So after winning two games this nine game stretch ends up being 4-4-1. Better than most had predicted, but nothing to brag about either.

Still think we are in tough to make the playoffs, of course, but I still see a good run coming. In particular, Kiprusoff (if he is in fact 100%) should soon play his way into a groove. He struggled most of the year, but also had some tough bounces etc. If we can get some better goaltending results then (and perhaps only then) an 8-2-2 run is possible somehwere during the final 22 games.

Calgary is on the bullet train to no-mans land. Way too erratic to make the playoffs, too talented to end up really bad. 10-14th overall pick here we come!

they did way better than I expected, just .500 as you pointed out so not good enough for a playoff spot, but better than I expected.

But what a ride ... blow lead in Minny, collapse in Colorado, two gutsy home wins, face plant in California, then fill the net at the Dome in two games to finish.

If California wasn't such a hell for them they would have come out of this stretch in a good position.

Losses: VAN, SJ, @LA - Van will beat us as always and SJ and LA will be bigger, better teams.
OTL: @LA - 1 greasy low scoring game that we steal a point from.

I was at Chinook Centre at 9 this morning and saw a guy wearing a Flames shirt and hat. He was walking in circles with his head down and seemed to have lost his mind after last night's game. That will probably be me when my optimistic predictions get shattered...
I was close...
4-4

That's a lot better than what people expected so I hope now that the schedule is easier the Flames can jump into a playoff spot.
