It's a tough choice, whether or not to get the vaccine. On the one hand I understand how my vaccination protects not only me but other people from the flu, but on the other hand I don't want my kids to have autism - even if it comes with the benefit of being genetically flu resistant, which I assume they would also be.
It's a toughie alright.

i know folks get a little up in arms if a co-worker comes into the office when they are not feeling well, but consider their circumstances.....for example, my wife and I both work and we have two kids - when one of us gets sick we think about how sick are we, and what happens if one of the kids gets sick - sometimes, I feel the need to suffer and go into work, in case one of my kids gets sick......
Also with respect tot eh flu shot, it typically makes me feel crappy for two/three days - so i have decided to skip the flu shot and just deal with getting sick. this year was abotut eh first yer in 5 or so where I picked up something that had me down for a weekend......the way i figure the equation is that i am +11 days.....

Yes but you don't get the flu shot just for yourself, you get it to prevent the spread of the virus to those with weaker immune systems, ie. your kids.

Flu generally has you down for a lot more than a weekend too. I think at least some people not getting the vaccination probably don't understand what influenza is or how nasty it can be.

Flu shots doesn't cause autism...FYI.The " autism" myth has been debunked and has been removed from peer reviewed articles and publications. I encourage you to consider getting the flu shot to protect your family, especially your kids.Unless of course you or any of your family members has had anaphylactic reactions to it in the past. Getting your annual flu shots won't make you or your your kids genetically resistant as well. The annual flu shots contains "dead" strains of past flu virus' that the World Health Organization(WHO)has identified previously based on strains from last year. This years flu shot includes "dead" strains of H1N3 (cousin of H1N1), B Massachusetts and 1 more that I can't recall (strains that the WHO identified from last year and maybe this year). So they put different "dead" strain to the flu shots every year, so therefore, your body's immune system will keep "guessing" whats coming so it won't develop resistance in case you get the influenza. Or if you are really not convince, encourage your family and yourself to wash your hands regularly with just soap and water! I hope you and your family a healthy holidays!
Calling a stomach bug the "stomach flu" has probably set the flu vaccine movement back decades. Of everybody I've heard who claims the shot made them ill, it's staggering how many of them claim vomiting as the main symptom.

Oh man, at first I was thinking the strain this year wasn't that bad. Started off as a fever and a bit of a cough, but has turned into a respiratory nightmare that has me wanting to blow my brains out! Moving on to day 6.
Btw, would never know it otherwise, but daytime tv sucks.
I read this article a couple years ago and wonder if this is actually a legit finding. I can't seem to find any articles largely refuting the findings. But then I didn't try very hard, haha.
