Something one of my classmates once pointed out during an Organic Chem course. It's one thing to see something - it's just photons that reach your eyes to your brain. It's completely another thing when you smell something like poop.

Actual physical particles have to reach you and enter into your nose for you to ever actually "smell". So you're not just "smelling" something, you're actually touching it . . . with the inside of your nose, mouth, lungs, let alone whatever exposed skin you have.

OK, I'm just going to file that knowledge right along side the "how sausages are made" folder that's rattling around somewhere in the dusty recesses of the part of my memory I choose to ignore.

You are being bombarded with poo photons that behave as poo particles and poo waves at the same time! My god. We're through the looking glass here, people.

Quick question, the food I bring for lunch heated up in the microwave smells. I'd like to think it smells good. I tend not to bring Chinese food or anything with curry in it as I know it's not a popular smell.

For example, I brought cannelloni with tomato sauce today that you could smell from a mile away. Some people commented about the smell and that it smelled "good". Is this a passive aggressive way of saying "stop bringing in food that has a strong smell."?

Just curious what general thoughts are, because I don't want to be that guy.

Its not like they can't take a joke.
And a majority of them have hot young daughters...

When you look around the room and can't spot "that guy" guess what...

Add this to the things I find annoying. Pretty much every time I bring my lunch I get a few people coming over while I eat going "Man that smells good, what do you have today"...It's meatloaf, leave me alone I am trying to eat in peace.

That really annoys me. I eat at my desk and am already interrupted several times over lunch with phone calls and requests/questions. Then someone will walk in lean over my desk/plate and ask me about my lunch.

It should be like bathroom etiquette. If you are at the same step then it is acceptable to socialize, otherwise keep to yourself.
