			That was some riveting stuff!!
The only part that's mind boggling is why would Werner escape to meet with his wife for 4 days. Just way out of place for such a smart man.

The only thing i can come up with is that his wife looks like Diane Kruger!

Is it only one more season of Saul?

I've read they plan BCS to have as many episodes as BB. So about 20 more episodes, which they might do over 1 or 2 seasons. They are renewed for Season 5.

I think Kim is feeling guilty. She realizes she is enabling a monster. And probably hates herself for it. My two cents.

I think Werner felt that he could get away with it because of how close he thought he was to Mike. As he said, he thought he would come back and "his friend Michael" would be upset, but understand and forgive him. In fact, I believe this is the major turning point in Mike's character in becoming the cold, calculated cleaner we see in BB.

The only characters we see Mike care about in BB are Kaley and Jesse, and I think it's clear that it's because he sees his son in Jesse (a mostly wholesome victim). Mike has been softer in BCS, and him letting his guard down with Werner and the group and then having to put him down because he was too soft on him is going to be transformative.

Great season. My only complaint on this show is that it has been so slow to build and may be finished in 1-2 more seasons.
I feel like they're just getting going, so that will suck if it ends so soon.

They need a season that's at least 90% Saul Goodman in full swing: scamming, hustling, building his practice, climbing the ranks of the underworld, etc. That was the show I had always wanted and expected. I love the direction they went with, which emphasized character and story over wacky hijinks, but now that they've laid out the ground work, it's time to watch Saul soar like an eagle.

I mean next season is going to be Saul spreading his wings for sure. And then the final season will probably be chock full of Breaking Bad references and cameos.

If there was to be a third series in this universe, who would be the protagonist(s)?

Jimmy and Kim, reunited in Omaha.

Jesse, can't escape his past.

Yes, he collapsed at Cin-a-bon and was worried about being identified at the hospital.

Do you have a sense yet of how much story there is left to tell, now that we’ve come to this moment?
I think we’re closer to the end than to the beginning. I think it’s safe to say that. We’re still figuring out exactly how many more episodes there are. On the other hand, this show, like on Breaking Bad, we give ourselves permission to move back and forth in time. We already know that we’ve seen a lot of Gene in Omaha. We’re thinking maybe there’s another chapter to this story that happens, post-Breaking Bad. Possibly.

Ha having a memory issue this morning - who is Gene? The Cin-e-Bon employee? Is that Jimmy after he goes into hiding?

Also, just my own opinion but I though the whole Werner plot line was rather weak.

Yes. Gene is post BB Saul/Jimmy in hiding in Omaha.

And I agree with you. It gave us nothing about Mike's character we didn't already know. There was no significant development or change to his attitude or characterization. He's still the same Mike he's always been. Does what is necessary even when he doesn't want to.

I thought we were going to see something different with his freak out at counselling earlier in the season but that didn't go anywhere. He's just same old Mike. He's by far the best character in BB/BCS but the whole storyline just fell flat for me.

I would have much preferred we spent more time with Nacho becoming a disillusioned badass.

I disagree. Mike was a hard ass, but he was just.

Now he's just a "security" guy for a drug lord. There was the tension, there was struggle, there was acceptance, there was the crossing over point. It was a good story line.

			Peter Gould on Mike:
	Quote:

Why did you want to delve into the construction of the Super Lab? What has it told us about who Mike is now and what his relationship with Gus is?
The question we’re trying to answer is how did the Mike Ehrmantraut we met at the beginning of the show become the Mike Ehrmantraut of Breaking Bad, who was a killer for hire, and Gus Fring’s right-hand man. It’s not an easy question to answer. This season, Mike was finally ready to work for and with Gus. The question was always in our mind: What is it exactly that Gus needs Mike for? He has access to many killers. But Mike is in a category of his own. Mike is a man, like Gus, who can walk in the light and in the darkness. He can work in the above ground world, in the world of society and also in the world of crime. Gus needs this guy, because he is planning to build this Super Lab, and it has to be kept secret. I have to say, I was always fascinated by how you build something like the Super Lab. When I was a kid, I would watch the James Bond movies and see Blofeld had a hollowed-out volcano, and I’d wonder, “How did they do that and keep it secret?” Like with everything in this show, we’re fascinated with process. It seemed a task that was worthy of the talents of Mike Ehrmantraut.

I disagree. Mike was a hard ass, but he was just.

Now he's just a "security" guy for a drug lord. There was the tension, there was struggle, there was acceptance, there was the crossing over point. It was a good story line.

If Mike is nothing more than a "security" guy for a drug lord, then I think that severely undermines his character in BB.

I also didn't feel any tension for Mike, a bit of a struggle but we already knew he'd do what he had to (he always does) and there was no crossing over.

I would have much preferred it if Gus wanted to let Werner live to continue construction because he needed his lab done on time and Mike was the one who insisted he kill Werner. That would have been powerful.

The problem is that, unlike Jimmy who is a very different character in BCS than he is in BB, Mike was basically the same guy right from the start. His life situation was a bit different, but little about his attitude or demeanor has changed since the start of BCS all the way to the end of BB. Doing a storyline showing his evolution to BB Mike only works if BCS Mike is fundamentally different.

I actually prefer the storyline from Gus' angle and seeing how the super lab was built. I definitely think Gould is bang on for that one. Seeing the behind the scenes of something that is rarely shown was cool.

Yeah, I still disagree. I thought it was a good storyline. I mean clearly we know how it's going to play out, but it's entertaining watching it happen.
