Liked Furiosa a lot. Close to as good as the first with a couple small issues. Was an act too long, and the Mad Max-ish side character was Mr Bland. Could have used some more charisma there.

The action was better than the first IMO. It felt like more of a "road race" than the first.

I was frankly shocked how good The Massive Weight of Unbearable Talent was. Mostly I was expecting a total dud, something the internet blew out of proportion and memed to death akin to Sharknado or Snakes on a Plane.

I'm honestly not even sure where that perception came from.

I went and saw Furiosa in IMAX and had a good time with the movie. The frentic battle scene on the rig was as good as anything ever made in car chase action.

2 people were on their phones, and the guy next to me was so fat I couldn’t use the arm rest drink holder.

This is why I seldom watch things in the theatre. It isn’t worth the money for the annoyance of seeing how selfish other people are.

VIP seating is the only way, but it also means being pretty selective due to the price.

I enjoy the theater and Furiosa was pretty fun. I liked the lead performances most of all.

We had a half empty theater, and our row had no one. But we had one of those people that sat immediately beside us for reasons unknown.

We were a seat over from the seats we'd actually purschased without realizing and this guy had the audacity to tell my buddy to get out of the seat he was in, instead of taking one of the whole empty row that were clearly not going to be occupied since the movie was starting.

So the whole movie it's us and this guy in a tiny cluster and a swath of empty seats.

It feels like not being weird at the theater is a low bar but people impressively manage to swoop below it.

I have a method to avoid the mutants out there at movies, since I start work really damn early I can get to the theater on a weekday at 3PM. It's perfect.

If going during any evening I scan the seat map before buying, if there are too many people I don't bother. Nice empty row, I click that button.

Ah yes, those early times are also great on the weekends.

That reminds me, Landmark in Shawnessy rents out one of their theaters to a whacko religious group on Sun mornings, at least they did last year. I saw a weird poster up in the entrance and inquired. I thought the horrid covert religious movies were bad enough but I think this is a sermon or something equally as stupid. I really wish they would stay out of one of my favorite places, I don't visit their BS churches

And I would argue these delusional dummies are subsidizing my movie going where I watch the most blasphemous films I can find.

Afternoon matinees are the best. I went to a 12:00 showing of Furiosa earlier today, and I had most of the theatre all to myself. It was glorious.

Watched a great 90s Italian horror movie; Cemetery Man . The plot is really hard to explain but basically it's about a guy who works in a cemetery in Italy but at the cemetery the dead comeback in about a week as zombies and he has to kill them again. The guy also falls in and out of love with several women throughout the film. The imagery in this is 2nd to none, with so many killer creepy shots and the whole film is dripping with amazing atmosphere.

Haha, YES! Starring Rupert Everett (the gay best friend in My Best Friend's Wedding). I love that movie! Such a great cult classic.

I got just the regular 4k release without the fancy bells and whistles, regretting that decision.

Would you recommend The Church by the same director, I saw Severin also put that out in 4k.

Furiosa was excellent. I’m a big proponent of show don’t tell in story telling and Miller is one of the best at this. Can’t get that stowaway sequence out of my mind, just a brilliant action scene.
