Trevor is the QB desperation conundrum summed up. While he's never lived up to the "prince that was promised" hype, he's also not been truly horrible enough to walk away from. Was he worth the second contract? Nope...but if he got to market he would have got the same contract, or even more. And if you do walk away from him maybe you find a good rookie, or maybe you get a reclamation project like Baker or Geno who works into a quality starter...or maybe you spend 5-10 years looking for someone as good as Trevor was. And when you're the current coach or GM the risk of maybe getting someone better isn't going to be worth it to them, and you won't be around to clean up any mess that a bad contract will leave, so here the Jags are.
