Pretty much the election in a nutshell.
All I did was point out specific examples in this thread. I’m not going around saying anybody who voted orange is a $&@*ing moron.

Everybody has a right to vote for whatever party they want to and they all have their reasons.

I'm glad Notley isn't quitting, she's a good leader (I don't care about her dad, rebrand the party).

Slava tried to debate some issues but gave up on a number of occasions. Minds were already made up.

Go back to when Kenney won, and it was disappointment but not like this. People are legit offended by Smith. As for me, someone who actually has personal experience? I’m frightened about what she will do.

This is silly. There are tons of people who work in O&G that voted NDP this time. Some people are capable of looking past their wallets and think about what kind of place they want to live in.

She couldn't beat Danielle Smith... she should be gone.

Sort of like if you can't beat Mike Smith in the playoffs.

We need a strong opposition party to hold Smith and the UCP accountable.

Have you considered moving to a place that represents your values? I can't understand why you'd stay in a province that is so vile.

It’s not bait. Literally, what fresh faces and views? Are you talking about Smith herself? She’s not new.

What new people are you excited about?

That pleases me but it’s a mixed blessing. There are no Edmonton MLAs to be in a UCP cabinet. My lane UCP MLA may get a cabinet post.

He gave up because his “reasons” were easily refuted.

She said it herself, its about leadership and trust. So I used that metric.

She panders on health care and charter schools. She cozied up to Trudeau expecting him to help her back, and sure as David Johnson she got used.

I get Smith is her contrast but Notley isn’t some rock solid Lougheed 2.0

To me she is fairly mediocre
Mediocre is a god damn hero is this race, even if that's what you think. Enjoy the alternative. happy to say I got two opportunities to reject a Smith lead party. Happy to say I chose the most likely alternative both times.

I think stupid / moronic... is a little off the mark, people need to realize most of these people are construction visions of the world that best suite what they need to believe for the sake of self consistency, even if it's not externally consistent. But like Kenny history will prove that Albertans made a poor choice, and it's pretty predictable.

Depending on how the votes tally overnight, this is running into a doomsday scenario for Calgary. We lost a bunch of serving ministers (forcing Danielle to draw from rural ridings) and this will just further divide urban vs rural in Alberta.

Going to be an interesting four years.
