Protecting the lead, why is there 6 in front of the ball with only 2 Uruguay players to cover?
Seconds later, look at everyone open. 5 Uruguay olayers on the goal side of Canadian players. The pass gets through because not enough are goal side, and we got guys jogging back from nowhere to nowhere.
Inexcusable...and penalties went terribly.
Choked that one away, big time...when they were the better team for 85 minutes.
On another note. Done with Wileman and his obsession with telling everyone where they played and ignoring the gsme and then empty platitudes. That may play for MLS coverage, not National Team games.
Hope they have someone else to call the 2026 games.
Coverage will be on how well they did and what this means for 2026.
But they messed up a third place finish due to last minute laziness and inability to put glorious chances in the back of the net. It really should sting and there should be some pointed criticism about the way that regular time ended with such a horrendous breakdown on two Suarez chances that shouldn't have been anywhere near a chance.

That was a tough one and Canada probably deserved to win that. You can’t give up multiple odd man rushes against when defending a 2-1 lead with about 7 minutes remaining including stoppage time.
They will learn from this and the trend is very positive with this team. They are competing with some of the worlds best right now which is awesome to see and a far cry from years prior.
Well done boys, keep your heads held high.

I choose to believe Canada should have won this. Uruguay got lucky the score wasn't more in Canada's favor.
I don’t think Uruguay was lucky the score wasn’t more lopsided. Canada lacks finishing and did the entire tournament. It’s something they really need to work hard at over the next couple of years. They scored four times in six games. The real positive for me was that they were able to consistently generate scoring chances. They need to learn how to finish better though because the margin for error against the top nations is razor thin.

I remember seeing comments in this thread before the tournament began that it would be good if we got a single draw. We finished 4th best. We deserved the win today but it didn't happen. Absolutely proud of the end result though. I had an blast watching each and every game they played.

Not luck. It was proven all tournament, when we scored 1 goal against teams with 10 players for 100 minutes...when we had 8 top quality chances tonight and got only 2 goals.
There needs to be killer instinct anywhere near net. They worked for their chances to create tonight and fell completely flat when it matters.
Johnston in there at left back instead of Layera and it would well be a victory.
Not sure why he came out as the teams best defender and didnt come out all tournament...especially leaving Layera who was subbed out in most of the games he played. Layera the one who was in no mans land on the 2-2 goal and Johnston would've been in much better position.
Johnston the best player in the team all tournament.

So Canada basically lost to Argentina, beat Peru, and drew against Chile, Venezuela, and Uruguay. A great performance in their first ever Copa and I can’t believe how far the team has improved since the days of losing to Caribbean Island countries.

they got to lineup versus the worlds number 1 twice in a fortnight- that's huge for experience, and huge that the right was even earned. I'm not going to pretend we are ready to challenge them of course

The team far exceeded any of my wildest hopes and dreams for the tournament.
Future is bright. But yeah, we need to figure out how to score goals. Been a problem since the World Cup. The positive is they are generating chances but scoring is the hardest part of the game. Hopefully David and Tani can add this to the team against top competition in the years ahead
