Wolfie has got to be the most popular prospect in this organization in years. Probably since Johnny played his final year of college.

All I can get

I doubt Wolf is on the block, unless it's too good an offer on the table.
Werner is a journeyman AHLer and the Russian kids too far into the future to accurately assess.

Trade for Copp, move Monahan for picks, sign Copp to $4-5M over 4 years. Improve the cap a little.

This may not be popular but what about Monahan for Kessel? Get him off the books in the off-season.

Depends how comfortable you are with Dube at centre. And where does Phil even fit now?

I think Monahan is here until the offseason, far more likely his game improves to a higher level than anything you can bring in right now in exchange

Does Monahan even have positive value right now? I’m not so sure about that.

Maybe something like:
Gaudreau-Lindholm-Tkachuk
Mangiapane-Backlund-Coleman
Kessel-Ruzicka-Toffoli
Lucic-Dube-Lewis

That's about how it would have to be, which would be so weird - suddenly acquiring two RHS only to have one play LW. But Kessel is an underrated passer, so it could work.

I worry that any D acquisition would push Kylington down.
Gudbranson is fine to fill in the top 4 if necessary, and Stone to replace him. Zadorov taking Kylington's place would be fine...but him replacing Hanifin would be a little scarier. I'd be fine with either Vali or Mackey as the #6 D man. It seems a fine line to find someone better than Zadorov who won't neuter Kylington...
Dekeyser? De Haan? Kulak? CHARA!!!!!

Paul Statsny would be the next target for me.
LW/C, can play up and down the lineup, has really evolved into a 200ft player, should only cost about $2M if you can get Jets to retain.
Might be the ideal type of rental type acquisition for this roster from a cost / impact perspective.

Yup. If any of Lindholm/Hanifin/Markstrom go down we're in trouble, but it's hard to imagine a realistic/better option to replace Lindy than Monahan. Then you're running Dubé-Ruzicka at 3-4C which is manageable, but a Jarnkrok/M Johansson would help make that work much better.
What about Chris Tierney? He seems to be the 9th/10th forward in OTT this year...not sure he is well suited to the 4th line or wing? He was young, but has decent playoff experience with SJS.

Me likey.
Stastny-Monahan-Toffoli
Lucic-Ruzicka-Dube
Lewis
Pretty well insured against injury at any forward position.

Dube would need to go for the cap to work (and they would need to retain)

I was such a big Dube supporter but he's lost me this year so I'm good with it.

Wouldn't have to be Dube.
The team is supposed to have $850k of cap space at the deadline based on their roster today.
Waiving Richardson or Ritchie would open up another $800k of space.
So if it was Valimaki for Statsny 50% retained that would work as an example.
Valimaki: $450k against current cap
Richardson/Ritchie waived: $800k
Current Space: $850k
So Flames would be able to add about $2M in cap space if it's Valimaki going out the door, and if we just waive one of the two extra forwards.

If Seattle makes McCann available, he has to be the top target. Dube and/or Valimaki and a pick maybe?

Didn't realize Valimaki was still counting against the cap! Make it so.
