Does Gene Principe realize that other people, besides Oiler fan watch these games.... he's ironing his clothes to show that the Oilers are ironing out a few wrinkles. I think the Oilers have more issues than a few wrinkles. He also excused Talbot's not returning to the bench as a team letting their goalie down - doesn't he realize that hockey is a team sport, something the Oilers are missing - team spirit.

Oilers are 14-9-2 when they score the first goal... and they announce that like it's a good statistic - it's horrible, if I spot someone a one goal lead, I'd hope they'd win a good majority of those games.

Calgary is 24-3-1 when scoring first. 12-0-1 at home. 12-3-0 away.

Man, the Wild are (still) boring. And bad.
Given how bad all the teams ahead of them are, I would not be shocked to see the Oilers stumble into the last wild card spot. Not saying they will or that they’d deserve it—just that with how bad all these teams are, it’s a crapshoot for those last playoff positions at this point.
I think St. Louis gets the first wild card.

you shut your mouth drewtastic! This is the Edmonton is no good thread...I hope they finish last place, again. I don't even care if they win the lottery again, which the NHL won't let happen, will they?

This is exactly how I want them to be, win 1, lose 2 and then win 1 lose 2, rinse and repeat.

Talbot, after his seemingly intentional not giving a crap and being pulled early against the Canes the day after being told that Kosttinen was the guy, pulls up his boot straps since and is determined to playing his way out of Edmonton.
The Oilers have no choice now, and it’s the only reason they signed the other guy at some random time mid season, for Lowe (who’d long since taken the reigns from Chia) to put up the smoke signal via the long burning Millwoods tire fire, that Talbot could be had.

How funny would it be if the guy they threw under the bus becomes the guy that plays all the big games for them down the stretch because they don't trust the guy they just extended for three years? Only in Edmonton can this stuff happen.

This would be epic. It’s hilarious that it could actually happen, and something that could only happen in Edmonton.
