I was thinking the same but with the competition coming up I don’t know if we can concede anything. To your point though they don’t score too many which is the challenge. Heart says pull him but realistically this game could be over.

I can't recall the last big comeback the Jays had. So maybe they're due?

The Jays love swinging early and often.

Varsho is awful, the type of hitter you don’t want on your team.

Games like this are where the Jays lack of power really shows. The Rays haven't hit the ball all that well expect when they do it's been out of the park. The Jays have had a ton of base runners but there's really no threat of damage without the long ball.

It’s a true problem. He can’t be the same next year. Every OFer has to at minimum be a good hitter. His defence is great but even if he’s the best at that it’s not justifiable to have a black hole batting wise in the outfield. I suppose the upside is there and he’ll be given a chance to work it out, but part of me wants to see him in a position where lacklustre offense is expected. And that’s catcher or 2nd base.

Loving that Rays defense. Diaz looked hurt after both of those plays too. Wonder if he's got something nagging him.

Bichette has to steal here. I know it’s not his specity but they must take a chance.

What a nice little two out rally!
Chapman close to sneaking that one through for the lead. That would've been nice.

Gotta hand it to Heineman there, if that was Kirk he's out and the inning is over without a run.

Jays will win this now. They get spooked by starting pitching, but the mental burden is released when the other team goes to the bullpen and they gain super hero confidence as a group, it seems.
Also, would they have gotten 4 runs if the Rays left the starter in, with two outs and no runs in? My guess is no. The theory behind why starters get a quick pull after a couple hits, is for another day.

Don’t hate that send. Next batter is no better than 1 in 4 to get a hit to score the run. Odds of the throw and tag connecting were worth it. Didn’t work out.

Bichette has been struggling to hit the ball with runners on. He's good when he comes up with nobody on but seems to strike out when he actually needs a big hit
