To his credit, I am reading that Felix has stayed in Estoril and is continuing to practice on the clay. He's trying to find a way out of the current malaise he is in.

Yeah I'm sure Fontang has it all under control.

Yeah, I'm with you EE, nothing more I'd like to see than a coaching change for Felix.

He played better when Toni Nadal was on his team even if it was part time.

Casper Ruud just won his first Masters 1000 tourney defeating Jack Draper in the fina; 7-5 3-6 6-4. The match got very physical in the third set and Ruud just had a little more in the tank than Draper.

It's pretty cool to see Gabriel Diallo get automatically placed in a Masters 1000 main draw. He gets Marcus Giron on Wednesday in Rome.

It will be interesting to see - He will never be able to quiet some of the critics or escape the positive doping test and resultant fallout. I don't think he intended to gain any kind of competitive advantage with the minuscule amount detected, but rules are rules and he served his suspension. Let's see what kind of form he displays in Rome.

He was dominant last year. 73-6 with two Slams and the ATP Finals crown. The question is how long it takes him to get back to that level. I don't think it's a switch you can just flip after being off the tour for months. I would not be surprised if he's rusty into the summer hard-court season. If he can somehow have a really good RG and Wimbledon showing then it's a sign he's the real deal.

Victoria Mboko wins her opening main draw match 6-2 6-3 over the Italian wildcard Arianna Zucchini which sets up a tasty match versus Coco Gauff in round 2.

With the Djoker sunset, Carlos wandering the desert a bit, and Zverev being Zverev, I think the Carrot Calendar Slam is in serious play

Bianca off to a great start in her match versus Federica Urgesi as she sends a bagel over to her Italian opponent. The locals won't be happy if two Canadians eliminate two Italians, but hey that's sports lol
Edit: Bianca advances 6-0 6-3. Things got a little uneasy in set 2, but Bianca settled down to take the victory rather easily. She will face Donna Vekic in round 2.

Diallo might be Canada's best clay courter, looks solid.

Looking at the live rankings, Shapo has usurped Felix as the top ranked Canadian.

Lost his way in the 2nd set and allowed Giron back into the match. Needs to stop using the drop shot as much as he is and just stay on the gas.

Diallo sent packing by Marcus Giron - Disappointing after such a great run in Madrid, just didn't play that great today, Giron was just more solid when it mattered. He is up to a career high ranking of #51 even with today's loss, but that debut in the top 50 will have to wait a bit.
