Pondering going, solely for the food. Beef on a bun, mini donuts, deep fried everything...

Well, gotta say, kicked this Stampede off with a bang yesterday. Wildhorse saloon for the win, that was ridiculous. And if everyone could stop playing that stupid "you've been iced" game that would be great. I swear I got "iced" like 6 times yesterday, couldn't shake those losers.

Here are some ways to ice them back:
Quote:
Replace your passenger airbag with a ice cannon. Call your bro friday night and head out to the clubs. Except you don't go party at the club, you get in to a car accident. ICED
|
Quote:
Wrap an Ice in a blanket, come bursting in your bro's front door claiming you found an abandoned baby in the bushes outside, ask him to hold her while you call 911. ICED
|
Quote:
Kill a homeless person, then make an incision and hide an ice in his abdomen. Get your bro and be like OMG BRO THIS DUDE IS DEAD and be all freaking out, then pretend to trip on something. Fall so that your hand looks like it just goes right into the guy's stomach and be like AAAAA AAAAAAGHH and then pull the ice out
|
That should show em

Is there a camera restriction in the rodeo stands? If I take my DSLR and L lens (one of those big white canon doodads) will they confiscate it? Don't want to go through the hassle.

I am a little skurred.
I heard a rumour that there will be a rare form of Cowboy at this stampede.. one that now resides in million dollar condo's but claim to still be "country".. I can't wait to see these baffoons--- err I mean authentic cowboys.

No sh*t, but its fun.
I heard a rumour that next season there's going to be a rare form of hockey player at the Saddledome..one that's unathletic and resides in rented homes but wears the Flames jersey and claims to still be "athletic".. I can't wait to see these buffoons--- er I mean real hockey players.

Colt, er, Worley Parsons is having their Partay at Ranchman's today at 3pm.
This is likely the only party where I'll have been invited that I'll be going to this year.
Hey,Turned The Corner, I can get you an extra ticket, if you have changed your anti-Stampede stance...

I really do like seeing obviously new immigrant Canadians walking around town in cowboy hats and boots. Love or hate it, the Stampede still serves a very important purpose of bringing people together in this city.

I'm flattered some people remembered me by name.
I will be going to the office Stampede thing this year due to persistence badgering by one of my coworkers. It's next Thursday. Will the resulting collision between matter and antimatter end all existence? Stay tuned...
Othwerwise, I'll be holed up avoiding things as usual. But I will be venting on another forum this year, so this should be the last you hear from me.
Those of you who enjoy this event, have fun.

Went there last night and wasn't a fan of it. Maybe it's just not my scene though.

I heard the police are randomly searching people at the entrance gates. This true?

Just got back from the grounds and they didn't search me. I didn't notice them searching people either, but I wouldn't be surprised if they are.

They had a small table with 3 officers set up in front of the north gates on sneak-a-peek night randomly checking bags.

I went last night with a group of 12, our large friend with baggy clothes got searched, no one else.
Nashville was real fun, got there at 10:30, jumped the railing a few times and got everyone in within 30 mins. Seems like a d**k move but there are constantly people budging you anyway if you stay still, and it turned 2 hrs into 30 minutes. They were sold out of bbq beef on a bun inside which was a let down, those things are delicious with a $6.50 beer
I got my stampede fix in and done, once was enough this year
