You harp so hard on some of this small stuff but miss the little things like having Jetfire and Starscream working together, or having the narrator mimic Victor Caroli.
Game is fantastic.

I am not just nit-picking for the sake of nitpicking It really is unbearably unenjoyable for me almost every second I played (I played Decepticon campaign for about an hour) but that is my nature. I rarely enjoy things unless they are exactly the way I want them to be. I guess that is also why I am a PC gamer, because I have always modded/hacked the heck out of all the games I am able to get into.
The guns have no oomph, they have no sound to make me feel like I am firing a fusion cannon. When I Transform, I don't feel like they are Transforming. None of that stuff is there and it bugs me every moment I am playing.
I am really regretting the purchase and you can't resell Steam games. Character designs are pretty ugly. The Unreal engine is pretty ugly too. Everything is just badly textured gray metal with some color highlights.
I'm not totally against new things. I just read all of IDW's run and I really enjoyed Don and Guido's artwork. They really get what it means to homage G1 and stay true to the things that are neccessary to stay true to while adding their own touches and modernizations but everything is still recognizable. He's even sold me on the new movie concept of mechanical faces which I used to hate. I don't really care about Jetfire and Starscream working together as I'm not a stickler for continuity or storyline (and hence, the IDW reboot is accepted easily) since honestly...the cartoon and the comic in the 80s were bad and cheesy in terms of story anyway. It's all about picture and sound.
