Sure then they get the same picks in the following draft. Fact is Jays will make allot of selections in the June, 2010 draft. Plus Jays have doubled their scouting staff.
In my opinion they are making the right choices, Scutura signing with the Red Sox's is like trading a player for two high picks. Its a good move.

Which is a one time thing, Jays in the previous years signed a high number of their selections. Last year for what ever reason JP drafted players that they knew were going to be very difficult to sign.
Plus when the high end picks are not signed Jays get the same pick in the next draft.

Well, if you look at it, this year is huge for the Jays.
Assuming that Barajas signs elsewhere making it 9 picks in the first 3 rounds, and assuming the Jays get at least 4 decent prospects for Halladay, then that would make it possible if they sign most if not all of those guys that they'll have 10-13 pieces to help build around.
If AA can do it right, he could have the jays back into contention in 2-3 years (due partially to prospects, partially to free agency)

"The Texas Rangers acquired infielder Joe Inglett off waivers from Toronto, the club announced Friday"
Somewhat surprised the Jays waived this guy, figured he would be on the team as a utility player next season.

Not the one...

In hindsight, not signing those high picks may have been a boon for the Jays.
They'll get the picks "back" this season and have a much bigger focus on scouting compared to last year.

Inglett was and is brutal. Good riddance.

Obviously not a Jay fan, Inglett was really good utility player, can play multiple postions. Good guy for depth when injuries happen. Every team needs a Joe Inglett in AAA.

Inglett was basically the Jays version of Lundmark.

Some more talk on the Halladay front with Anaheim and Philly showing interest. See if anything happens here I guess.

Jays rehire Buck Martinez to do telecasts. Good move from my standpoint. I enjoyed the guys voice (no homo). Campbell I got used to, and will miss to some degree, but Martinez was much better.

I don't follow baseball nearly as much as some on here, but isn't the Angels alleged offer of Saunders, Aybar and Boujrous (OF Prospect) pretty damn good??
Saunders is a proven commodity in the AL, Aybar would fix both the SS predicament in Toronto and the lead-off problem.

Well, it is a decent offer, but they are trying to get the maximum value for him, so they're continuing to negotiate with the other teams to see if they can get anything better than that.
I agree that that is a good deal, but the Jays system is quite bad. They really need to get a bounty for Halladay, otherwise the Jays might slide so far into mediocrity that they'll end up with the same fate as the expos.

At this point, including Halladay, what does the starting rotation look like?

These are the guys expected to be healthy at the beginning of the season.
Halladay, Romero, Richmond, Rzepchenski (sp), Marcum, Cecil
Mcgowan probably will never play again and Litsch is out till July at the earliest.

The Jays took Zach Zinicola and Duben De La Rosa, both relievers, from the Nationals in the Rule 5 draft. The Jays new assistant GM used to be with the Nationals, so maybe he knows something about those guys
Neither of their stats are overwhelming but it may free up the option for the Jays to trade Downs/Frasor who are free agents next year.

At this rate, I'd pretty much say anyone outside of Lind, Hill, and Snyder are available if anyone wants them.

Who is doing play by play? Buck is a color guy.
