I log in all the time, and use it to keep in touch with all the people I know who don't live in Calgary. Sure, there are people on there with whom I don't really have much to say, but if I ever do want to talk to them, there they are. Sometimes you get the occasional person where you think, "oh yah, that's why we never kept in touch - he's an idiot!", but I just turn off updates from such people and let them remain in the friends list, as it's not like it's costing you anything to keep them there.

I really like the photos thing, for people who are far away it's great to see their kids, spouses, and other family that you otherwise would never see. If you don't care about them - well, nobody's forcing you to click.

Closed my account over two years ago. Found it to be a waste of time and they only think I thought it was useful for was looking at girls. I think it creates serious problems for relationships.. oh wait, maybe that was me?

I have Facebook so I can laugh at others photos and such, and to keep in touch with old friends.

Also, thanks to Facebook I just learned two friends I like are recently single...

I use it to keep in touch with my family that's still in Canada. It's a lot cheaper than long distance. Other than that? Meh, I use it to screw with people and my status updates. Not the end of the world if you delete it.

I've been thinking about this too, but I'm living away from Alberta at the time. Kinda keeps me in touch with home...but sometimes that's a bad thing...looks like you're not the only one that's taking a social networking break.

I've noticed girls I knew from high school for example are also single, but I'm way too much of a chicken to try and talk to them and ask them out via facebook!
