Hells yeah! A little shower here and there makes for less bugs and muddier 4x4ing. Plus, constructing the tarps over the campsite is a fun little project that you get to sit in your chair and bask in it's glory afterward with your beer cooler right beside you.
Bring some tarps and lots of zip ties and a pair of side cutters to cut the ties afterward. And clean up the f'ing ties when you leave.
I prefer the role of supervisor in this scenario; mainly because I'm too damn short to tie the tarp up high enough. That and I get a head start on the boozing.
Even rainy camping is better than the flu!!
