A few questions about there not being enough evidence.
Did the officer say there wasn't enough evidence when he showed up that night?
if so, who called the police the cabbie or the girls? If it was the cabbie and he said that showed the video tape, the no. There wasn't enough evidence unless the officer had full audio as well. In a situation where things are heated I can see that.
If the girls called the police saying he tried to rape them, then there's clearly enough evidence.
After the initial incident and the video is shown in full and complete (without people yelling, and tempers tamed) then there *is* enough evidence, especially with the girls confession.
I'm wondering if it's liberal journalism regarding the not enough evidence line. That said they should be charged now.
Also wondering why they weren't charged for stiffing the cabbie on the fare? The video showed they never paid. Cops show up, you get charged. If you steal from me, I call the cops, they show up at your door and you say "oh sorry, here you go" and return my stuff, you still better be charged!
