Interesting thread. My wife and I are real late night people, as are our kids now unfortunately! We were going through a phase, recently, of staying up until 3am ish. I would then get up at 8am. So I was getting 5 hours. Now I'm probably getting between 5 to 7 hours of broken sleep (new baby). I likely could use 8 hours.
The most I've ever stayed up is about 60 hours or so after a transatlantic flight and then long drive. I felt like crap, drank way too much coffee. I'll never do that again.
