Ah! So the date of July 1, 2026, was correct in the contract as originally written? Just asking for clarity.

are you sure? Years 4-7 were always a 13 team no trade list, no?

I mean I cannot independently verify, I've never seen it to be fair.

Nope not 100% certain, I was told he had the full no move which has since been modified to a ntc. I think everyone's reporting a 13 team NTC but from what I've heard Craig would do what's in his best interest as well.
I think the debate is if it kicked in automatically or if he allowed it to modify, I'm trying to get a firm confirmation.

The two worst offensive teams in the league, but one of the teams has the best GA/G. Flames are going to get shut out and those who resign themselves to watching may be subject to death by boredom.

6 of the Flames 9 games have been against...Jets, Knights, Habs, Mammoth,

Teams with crazy good records even OUTSIDE OF THEIR FLAMES WINS. We will start to see if the schedule has been a big factor over the next few weeks. I think with a similar effort as the other home games gives them a pretty good chance tonight.

Yeah, but to what end? Of course they aren't going to go 8-66-8.

Regardless of strength of schedule, the Flames aren't a top team in the league - and they'd effectively need to play like one to be a playoff team from here on out.

The strategic move is to embrace a lost season. Anything but doing that would be a poor choice, which would be why it's wise to move on from Naz and Raz in the near term. The Flames most valuable asset, bar none, is their 2026 1st round pick. Maximize the value.

Serious question, will a team take Kadri off our hands? Mainstream media seems to think the Flames will get a haul in return, but I am doubtful we could move him without retaining a bunch of money.

No player is going to throw a game.

Management can make strategic moves though. Embrace youth, and their development as the top priority.

This can't be a real post...Kadri has big time value as is. Retaining would just make the value higher. He is exactly what a contending team wants for a playoff run(s)

I am 100% behind decisions like benching Coronato, it’s consistent with player development vs. winning at all costs. I actually thought this might have happened with Frost.

He's a fantastic player, and will immediately go to the top of the trade bait list unless Penguins sell off their superstars.

He'll return at least what we got for Lindholm, probably more.

No need to retain salary, but we might get more if we take a contract back (basically a very good return for Naz, then some additional assets on top for taking back a contract that a contending team might need to shed).

They can do that? Interesting.

I've never seen so many Flames struggling at the same time. Or can't remember a situation like this (selective amnesia?).

But even Huska agrees with you in his pre-game. Lots of guys could sit.

Reading between the lines, Huska thinks Matty will learn something from it (other won't?).

Weird time to be a Flames fan. We've had losing streaks in the past, but we always knew the team was better than that. This time, not so sure. This might be the best they can do.

I think you are right.

If the Flames play as well as they have in the last two games, they can win this game.

As long as they play on the ice and not in the penalty box, I think their chances are quite decent.

Thats the thing...they havent been 'terrible' per se.

Discipline has been lacking, sure, and they've got absolutely no finish. They make the chances but the end result is hoping the puck goes through the goalie's chest?

There is no subtlety or nuance or picking a corner, just: "I shoot at goalie now!"

And the defence is wafer thin and about as effective as the Maginot Line.

Wolf is back there and "Dammit! They just went around! Again!!"

The effort seems to be there. The desire seems to be there. The structure appears fine...its just that end-product doesnt seem to be there.
