Nobody is taking Kadri's contract off our hands. I'm definitely on team tank but four games in is way too early to throw in the towel. People are spending real money to watch these games. Building through the draft only works if you're willing to pay those players once they become established professionals. We're on the road to nowhere.
A long bad season can change a lot of perspectives. Maybe a guy like Kadri decides this isn't what he signed up for.
I keep Weegar to mentor Parekh.
And you are stuck Huberdeau.
So the list is probably Andersson, Coleman, and maybe Kadri if he changes his POV.
Think there might be a few vets considering greener pastures. I know it’s still early. But…….

Some posters thought this team would do better? Oof [thankfully for the future of the Franchise]
Really fun seeing the young guys (Wolf, Gridin, Honzek, Parekh, Coronato, Zary) perform well, and the prospects cupboards seem full of potential gold/silver, but anyone expecting the luck of last season to follow into this season was a bit short-sided, which is honestly truly the best for the future.
It could be a very long season for the vets - that 'us versus them attitude' that served them so well last year is hard to sustain. Trying to extend it into this season might be too much, sorry Weegs.
I would not blames Naz for wanting to play meaningful hockey again. In a few weeks, if this pace continues, Flames may be all out of meaningful games.
This is exactly what I thought might happen with Kadri. An aging asset seems to be regressing fast.
I don't know how many teams would want to take on that contract at this point. If you were going to trade him, the time was last season or the offseason.

Its a retirement contract. He decides when he feels like playing.

Was it not clear from my short post that it would require him to change his POV?
Well if he would change his mind after such a minuscule sample size, he must've already been leaning that way, which would vindicate the posters you criticised over the summer.

Jesus dude my posts weren't even that long. In your rush to try to "get me" you haven't even paid attention to my posts.

I didn't say he had changed his mind after such a small sample size. I said that if this season was long and bad - maybe he would.

Values don't change after 4 games.

Flames don't make proactive moves.

I'd argue he knows this is not a playoff team, and won't be until (or even if) Parekh and Reschny become star players. We could finish with 10 points this season and it wouldn't shift Kadri's perspective of what this team is without a centre actually better than him and a proper 1D.
A season of futility wouldn't make him more confident change is coming, especially if Parekh flops. Personally, anything that gets him out of town is the best outcome.
