At some point you need to prioritize your potential goalie of the future over the pending UFA. Wolf has earned another start tonight and sitting him for 6 days is a good way to get him out of his rhythm.

Wolf is going to get his 35-40 games this year, which is probably just about right for his development.
Calling Vladar a career backup is also ridiculous. He's 27 and finally healthy - just about the age most guys graduate to being the starter. Developing him is just as important as developing Wolf, and will not impede Wolf's development in the slightest.
There is just zero reason for angst, 5 games into the season. And no, a week between starts is not a problem, and after these next two games, the schedule gets very heavy.
