Radar is suggesting it is going to start raining this hour, but who knows how much steady rainfall would be needed to put a dent in it…

I am actually emotional about this. Born and raised in AB but for reasons unknown, I have traveled all over except for Jasper.
I understand how situations like this can change very quickly but I think Canada needs a more active rapid response to fires that have the ability to destroy entire towns, cities and more. It almost seems like we are always late to the party with these fires.
Hopefully things can be saved

Reports are something called a firenado crossed the road and took that lodge, like how do you fight something like this?

I think I'm going to be sick, I spent a lot of time there and have some incredible memories. It's the one place I truly was looking forward to for a vacation back home in Alberta. I'm actually shedding tears, this is the worst timeline I can think of

Some are saying that Jasper park Lodge is gone. I’m hoping they are mixing it up with Malign Lodge and only one is gone.

Do we know what started this fire and the surrounding fires? I know it's been hot but was there any specific causes?

It would be pretty unfathomable to lose the JPL.
What a horrific event.
