I think Ruzicka and Duehr will be able to make plays together even if Greer is just on the ice for his size and speed.

I watched a bunch of Bruins games last season and I liked Greer. He gets under the skin of opponents, which I think will be useful for this team and hopefully take some focus off of Huberdeau and co.

He’s not just a type cast tough guy, he can play and has some good speed to go along with his size. That 4th line will be a handful for the opposing teams when they’re on, loving this claim.

I mentioned this guy in the waivers thread yesterday, as I’ve liked him back to his draft year. He’s big and skates well, and has become quite nasty to play against. He will be a fan favourite.

If he can help the 4th line drive play and not routinely lose its match ups then I'm all for it, the goal scoring metrics be damned.

Him and Duehr are perfect fits on paper for the 4L, just leary of the center options.

I knew there was someone smart who was advocating for Greer yesterday.

Prefer A.J. Greer to Jaret Anderson-Dolan, but agree that there were more interesting options available.

From their cushy sofa in front of a TV, unathletic fans who've never played pro hockey say "why do we need players like this?"
Scouts, GM's who have played and actual current players say "it's nice to have grit in the lineup".
It is obviously important to them. You don't need scoring from your 4th line. So many teams have players like this including top teams that win cups. I believe players, coaches and GM's when they say they feel better when there is some toughness in the lineup. There are less nuclear options that can't skate in the league these days, but there is a roll for the Jeannot's and Maroon's. Greer can skate by all accounts.
I like it.
