That U2 show looks awesome. Thinking of taking it in.
Pretty sure the announcement tomorrow has to do with the completion of the land exchange and support agreements with the City and the Stampede.

An announcement about the number of solar panels to be installed on the roof. Followed by a moratorium on them from DS.

I looked at tickets since I could have routed through Vegas on a return trip from the west coast. Cheapest ticket was $1K from what I could tell.

Was that for opening weekend? My friend is going soon and there is no way he would pay that much to see his favorite band.

Does construction come to a halt in the winter, due to the snow etc., or do they push on through?

They push through. Ideally, you get your earthworks and concrete work done during non-winter months as it's more efficient/economical. I mean, everything outdoors is more efficient/economical when it's not -20, but it doesn't stop.
Unless they are already 60-100% done engineering at this point, a 2026 grand opening seems very unlikely. If they are just announcing design/architectural partners at this point 2027 is more realistic.

I thought the tickets were transfer restricted? I’ll have to look again.
Edit: just floor tickets. Yeah I see you can get tix for $400 plus fees on resale.

Ryan Leslie was on the Fan earlier and it wasn't entirely clear if this was his speculation or if he was hearing something, but he described how some arena design people visited Detroit for some inspiration. The key piece of info was that while the traditional arena design built out, he was describing an arena that built UP. Sounded very "inverted bowl"-ish to me.

Fun fact - members of the original design team (HOK, and the ones that I am betting will continue to be the design team going forward) were the actual designers of the Little Ceasars Arena. That whole group knows everything there is to know about that arena already, so they must be going back for additional reasons, or at least just a fun trip to Detroit to see the arena in person again.
