Plenty of players have missed whole years with an injury and come back just as good or better. I don’t see what difference it makes, really. When you’re at that level you don’t forget how to play hockey, and he’s been training for how long now?

Conditioning stint with the Wranglers perhaps? Hope it doesn't have to come to that.

I'm not concerned with Oliver's fitness. Did you see the video he posted?

He looks like he trains more than most.

He's not a Vet. He was just finding his feet.

We'll see. I'd rather have him back than not.

I like Kylington. Lets sign him for 8 years and make him a lifer.

Best skater on the team. It's what the team needs to address the no good Oilers.
Also useful for 3 on 3 OT.

It's a tale as old as time. And I hate that it's so prevalent for many from different cultures who come here. It's saddening to witness that tension and struggle from one's own family which is supposed to be a support base and a place of refuge.

Wishing Oliver well and hope he's able to work and live without that distraction weighing him down.
You absolutely do not know what you’re talking about. I’m aware of a little of his family back story, which I won’t share out of respect for Kylington. It is absolutely a story that would scar many and you can be thankful you have not had to walk in his shoes. What I’m aware of has nothing to do with direct negative effects from his family. If anything he has a very special family, especially his mother. The negative factors were external, and had a direct traumatic effect on Oliver and his family. When you don’t know what you’re talking about, don’t jump in with speculative crap like that. That’s why you were on my ignore list and will be going back to it.

Bet on Kylington. He's going to be a star.

TBQH, he owed zero explanation to anybody, and whatever he gave, was his right to give. People stretching w rumors or asking for more, you must expect 2 scoops of ice cream at the store when you only pay for a kids size.

Maybe they'll even practice 3 on 3 this year to help him get back into it.

Glad he was able to open up about his problems and get the help he needed. Taking the first step is sometimes the hardest. Looking forward to seeing him on the ice again.

He’s correct? You genuinely think people avoid talking about mental health because the people who speculate on their issues get called out for speculating? lol. That’s a stupid thing to think.

It’s pretty simple: when someone talks about mental health, it’s not appropriate to attempt to “read between the lines” and assume their issues or their struggles. It’s doubly bizarre to pretend you know anything about his individual family or support system. Don’t project your problems onto someone else. Tough to pretend to be empathetic or to care about whether people feel comfortable speaking about their issues when that’s your first move.

Instead of playing the victim every time you get called out for saying something dumb, just use your head. People aren’t telling you to stop pretending you know anything about Oliver’s family because they’re out to get you like schoolyard bullies, they’re saying it because you don’t and it would take a profound leap of faith to convince anyone that’s not what you were attempting to do.

“Schoolyard bully” stuff is funny from the guy who threatened to smack someone if he saw them “in real life,” though lol. You’re a gem.

I think that Kylington carrying the puck with speed would really help Huberdeau's game. I don't know which Kylington we'll get back, but he's just the element we've been missing to generate more movement in transition, and in the offensive zone.

Take the personal disagreements to PM if you feel offended. This is not the place for it.

That's the thing. Mental Illness doesn't look like one thing. I will tell you that often it doesn't look like someone sitting in a dark room, balled up and weeping.

Often the person looks like they have it all figured it out - living a good life, happy, smiling, with everything one needs. Life of the party.

And then one day they decide to shove a gun in their mouth.

It's similar to drowning. People think someone drowning is thrashing about, calling for help. That's not what it actually looks like.

We need to do away with the idea that mental illness "looks" a certain way or "doesn't look" a certain way. Perhaps you thought it was a funny little dig. But it isn't. It perpetuates the stereotypes towards the issue that is a big part of the problem.
