Tampa still put in top 10 protection on their first rounders

The market is insane rn.

Good for Chicago. They're doing well for themselves. Foss has to like this.

Yeah seems like another huge overpayment. Although I've only seen Hagel a couple of times this year he looked ok, nothing game changing. I know it's a favorable contract and all, but still. Chicago selling high.

Wonder if the western road swing showed that Tampa is not quite the same and they are trying to plug some holes.

basically Hagel for 2 low first. It’s not overpayment

He can already help this year. That’s worth a 1st. The other 1st is for his low contract the next 2 yrs. They’ll let him go like Coleman when he is due for a raise

That third line was critical to them winning the Cup and seems like a gap they are trying to solve. It's a stiff price, but they are in a cup winning window with the potential of reaching dynasty status. You go for it and worry about the future later.

to be fair, if Ben freakin Chiarot as a rental is worth a 1st+, then Hagel on that contract is too.

extremely steep though. Wouldn't be surprised if Raddysh and Katchouk put up good numbers with more ice time in Chicago.

Wow....

Who cares if they protected the 1sts? Tampa isnt drafting in the Top 10 for years to come. They are really going for it.

I think there is a real chance that Raddysh actually becomes a better player than Hagel with more ice time and more time with skilled players.

He's been great in a 4th line role for Tampa.

Katchouk has a chance to become a heck of a player as well.

Fans: "Can we get Tkachuk?"

Methinks the real value is in Hagels contract. He's a young player with upside: often on the top line / top PP. Lock that in for two more years at $1.5M? That's worth a ton, and the best way to supplement their humungous core.

A haul for the Blackhawks. Tampa gearing up for a three peat, so they are perfectly fine mortgaging their future.

2 good prospects too and you have no idea where the picks land. Look at Vegas a year ago, did you think they were a bubble team?

This makes the Toffoli trade look even better. Glad Tre made the deal when he did. The prices being paid now, might have driven up the cost even further.

Katchouk and Raddysh are two worse Dubés at this point.

Wouldn’t call them prospects any more.
