Huh...when you break it down this way it doesn't seem all that unattainable...

How we handle the likes of Edmonton and how much fight the team shows in these two games will say a lot about any kind of chance. Intensity needs to be high, and will have to outwork them.

They kind of gave up in that third vs the Habs which was made all the sadder in that it was just a one goal deficit.

Edmonton is so ego driven in that they save their starter for us despite it being a much less meaningful game implications wise. They obviously care about beating us and stroking their egos so let's flip the script on them and make them look bad, since they are.

Is it too much to ask for a lobsided 7-1 win vs Smith and the Oilers?

No memorials today for the excuse book right? No asterisk from the coil captain if we beat them?

Well, the dream team played in Winnipeg last night, so there is that excuse ready and waiting should the result not favour them

That probably works in our favour. No guarantee we draft someone good with recent game tape.

Why don't we skip playing the game and just give Sutter a few hours at the mic. I'd buy season tickets to that.

The games are needed. They give Sutter something to be surly about. But I’m all in for more Sutter.

I'll bet my house they break that one in on the broadcast if we win/are winning. I can already hear it from the apologist sportsnet cheerleader squad.

Fan 960 has me convinced a 6-2 finish gets the Flames into the playoffs.

Hell, I still believe.

Ohh.. It would be crazy if the Habs finish their schedule six points up and we have 3 games remaining vs the Canucks who are at that point out of reach and just playing out the string.

I bet you thats exactly what will happen. And we will piss away the clinching game in the last 10 minutes somehow. Because they haven't sunk enough daggers in the fans hopes for one season.

I'm just hoping that the game doesn't go to overtime.
I also hope McDavid doesn't get a lot of points.

I don’t care about making the playoffs. It’s not happening.

I don’t care about moving up or down a few spots in the draft. This draft sucks anyway.

What I do care about is beating the ever living piss out of those arrogant greaseballs up north.

Go Flames go!

Apparently Tanev is playing through an injury.

Stood in the way of a few pucks v. Montreal. That’s all I can remember.

I'm cheering for a win, but I'm not sure I can handle watching them get blown out against Edmonton again. It's soul-crushing.
I can't look.

I admire this. I really do. And the Flames are my team and the only one I will ever cheer for.

But man we've had weeks of these breakdowns and when the crunch comes this team just cannot rise to the occasion. Especially this year but also several other times since the 2019 all-star break.

I am not jumping off the bandwagon. I just don't believe there is a bandwagon to be on at the moment.

"Win the Gaudreau trade; short-term and long term" is my mantra now

And beat the Oilers because that is always the right thing to do
