There was "Bad Kravchuck" AKA "Igor" and then there was "Good Kravchuck" AKA "Gary."

I stand corrected.
It was Mike Sullivan that we claimed off waivers from SJ. Remember Tom Bricker of 660 saying Flames acquire speedy shark when it happened.
Whalen said Keczmer’s name different every tome. Was a hoot to listen too.

This is really the critical element when it comes to Niedermeyer. All the talent was there, but for whatever reason it didn't show through in his play. I don't know how many times I shouted from the stands as he turned away from the puck or made a soft play. At one point I started referring to him as, "The Man who would do Nothing"
It's one thing if a grinder like David Moss walks in and sucks. It's another thing entirely when someone who has all the tools walks in and sucks anyway.

LOL, it's the internet. Most of us don't know what we are talking about at any given time.

Never.

I like this definition.
In that respect, the most glaring recent examples are probably Bouwmeester, Butler, and Brouwer.
Bouwmeester was perfectly fine here, only asked to play a different role/style than he did in Florida. We didn't get what we were expecting, but he was a good defenseman. Good enough to make the Olympic roster of a country that won gold.
Butler was played over his position. I always felt he was servicable in a 6, maybe 5 role, but being played top 4 was ludicrous.
Same goes with Brouwer. Gully's Brouwerplay is not his fault. Being paid $1.5 million per year more than he was worth at the time was not ALL his fault. Take him off the powerplay, put him as a permanent bottom six, and wait for playoff Brouwer to show up when you need him.

Ah yes, the "Rob Niedermayer Hat-trick"
- Giveaway leading directly to a goal
- Stupid penalty out of nowhere that results in a PPG against
- Receiving end of a momentum-changing big hit

Back in the day at CP: Special Nieds was Rob
When pursuing Scott as a UFA that one summer of 2005 ,he was coined Nieds Special.
Yes, Bouwmeester is another one that fans expected more of, given the hype and the contract he had. Again, a bit of victim of circumstance ; the Flames swung back and forth in those post 2004 seasons, from going to not scoring enough goals or having offensive difference makers, and attempting to fix that one offseason, to having porous defense the next year, and fixing that (with Bouwmeester). So he was brought in 10 years ago to shore up the defensive end, but expected by fans to light up the scoreboard given the free reign he had in Fla.

I would add Paul Byron. If he converted half his breakaways he would have had 20 goals here.

I would also add next year’s ufa signing. And the one the year after that. And the year after that and the year after that.
Our shiny new toys generally suck the day we sign them.

Add in Leeman and McElhinney
Coaches: Glutuzan, Brent Sutter, and Playfair

I cannot believe no one has said Brandon Bollig!
We traded a third round pick for this plug. Could not skate, could not play hockey! Yet he was tough? When was he tough? A teammate would get run and he would skate away!
You don’t need to be a goon and do the staged fighting thing. Yet you are expected to stand up for your teammates. I mean Backlund is more physically engaging than Bollig ever was. Christ even Gaudreau will send a nice slash back to an opposing player.
Bollig was terrible.
Bollig makes Monahan look like an enforcer on the ice!
