Yup, Islanders beat them in 6. There were 3 key players in that series for the Isles that led them to victory: John Tavares, Travis Hamonic, and even Alan Quine.
Flames have 2 of the 3 this year.

If you want to be considered good, you need to have some semblance of consistency. The Panthers are always a bit of a tease...they have good promising players, show a flash here or there, but never seem to be able to get it together for any sustained period of time.

Yikes. If the Panthers can pull off a Panarin+Bobo coup that's a much different team. Still need a top d-man, though. Ekblad is still super inconsistent in my viewings.

George Richards @GeorgeRichards
#FlaPanthers GM Dale Tallon said no truth to rumors former #Isles GM Garth Snow is joining the organization. “I do play golf with him,” Tallon said.

We are Flames fans, so 'pretty good' is a low bar for most!

I'm very happy Quennville didn't end up in Edmonton... even though no one can save them, no one... I'm still happy big Joel won't be attempting to disprove the theory

What's good is so arbitrary though.
They've made the finals as many times as the Flames have in the last quarter of a century. And I think the Flames have been way better but depends on your perspective.

Interesting conditions in this thing too...

The Athletic’s George Richards was first to report the structure, the initial season at $6 million — about 70 per cent of which will be paid by Chicago. After that, it is all Panthers, starting at $5.25 million, with the possibility of escalators to $7 million. Here is one way those escalators work: There are bonuses for things like winning one round, going to the Stanley Cup Final, winning it all, etc. If you reach a bonus, not only do you get that payout, but the amount is added to your base salary for the remainder of your contract.
3. The word on the Panthers is they were the most aggressive team on Quenneville, refusing to take no for an answer. They made it clear this was not a search, but his job if he wanted it.
“That is very true,” Tallon said. “We had an idea Philadelphia was aggressive and wanted to get there as well.”

Coaches get a lot of praise when things go well so IMO it makes sense they would get paid relative to what players are getting seeing a good coach is as integral to team success as the players are.
