I think game 1 of the playoffs looks like this:
 Gio - Brodie
 Hanifin - Hamonic
 Fantenberg - Stone

Taking Andersson out is a...peculiar idea.

I have heard that Valimaki guy is not bad. I wonder if he is good enough for the NHL?

I think they go:

Gio - Andersson
Hanifin - Hamonic
Brodie - Stone

I'm guessing we see more and more of Gio with Andersson down the stretch.

I like this. I don't want any Brodie brainfarts against top lines in the post season.

Valimaki won't be seeing any playoff games unless they get hit by a lot of injuries. If the Flames were planning on him playing he would have been recalled by now.

Derek Wills said two weeks ago that the Flames planned to recall Valimaki in mid March. Expect it to happen in a week or two.

Why though? Wouldn't him playing top minutes and all situations in Stockton be more beneficial than to be in the press box here?

Do you really think he will sit in the press box? I sure don't. Valimaki is going to play games down the stretch, and will probably play games in the playoffs.

Have teams cycled through players on their bottom pairing during the playoffs without injury issues? Like what the Flames are doing right now.

I'd think that would be weird, no?

I’m happy to see he’s regained his health from what could be a very dangerous problem.

Nice stint for stoner. I'm looking forward to getting fresh legs and veteran experience on the third pairing. I also like Fantenberg though.. can we sit Brodie?

It remains to be seen what happens but remember Stone was a healthy scratch before he got his health problems because Valimaki and Andersson outplayed him

Also the flames season turned around during the games following him being a scratch.
Team was 5-6 in October I believe, he gets scratched and the team blows up in November.

If valimaki and stone are healthy at the same time it will be valimaki who gets into the game.

Valimaki and Andersson were defensemen 5 and 6 for an extended startech at the start of the season. How has Stone passed Valimaki on the depth chart?
I guess it’s nice to give Fantaburger and Stone some reps but I’m hoping we start the playoffs with our top 6. So if it were me, I’d value giving Valimaki NHL ice time before these other guys.

What a shame it was that Valimaki was injured for so long. Have to wonder if Kylington ever gets a shot though without both Stone and Valimaki out.
Hope Stone has a huge playoff , ifbonly to up his trade value.

I've heard Wills say twice that Stone has been working with a skating instructor to make good use of the non contact time with the blood clot. Stone told him that he can't get over the before and after videos of his stride and how much he's improved.

I never said it's what I would do, I said it's what I think the lineup will be. My feeling is that this organization prefers to enter the playoffs with a veteran group on the back end. I will be happy to be wrong.
