As long as Katz/Lowe/MacTavish/whoever are around it doesn't matter which puppet they put in the GM chair.

I was led to believe everything was going to be ok when Kris Russell got back.

Lots of good 80s Oilers players to choose from. What's Charlie Huddy up to these days?

Yeah I really don't understand what firing the GM at the all star break is going to accomplish. I can understand the coach because he's in front of the players every day but firing Chiarelli won't change a thing on ice for the Oilers. Once he's fired then the bulls eye will simply shift to Nicholson.

No reason to fret. Go ahead and fire Chiarelli. His replacement will still be picked by the same clownshoes that have been running Katz's petting zoo for the last 15 years.

Pursuming he signed Koski and made the trades and waivers you stop him from doing that with your first round pick at the trade deadline. It also lets the new GM get ready for the draft. It also means they won’t be doing a proper GM search and instead will be promoting from within.

I hope tracking is calling Chiarelli right now to check if he is feeling spiteful and still has the keys.

Chia should be fired if the majority of that Koskinen contract was his doing.

I don't think any team needs to be worried about him leaving. Chiarelli was the best of the bunch they had in that organization.

I'm pretty sure the Flames doing so well is also eating everyone up over there.

None of the stuff he did yesterday were done solo. That so called upper management had there hands in it.

But yup they will be promoting from within for sure.
