Sadly, I think what you see from Bennett is all you will get. I don't see him having another gear. Every once in awhile he has great checks but he simply is not consistent.

Jankowski steps up, plays pk, wins face offs
At least Backlund, plays pk, wins face offs
We’re missing secondary scoring! If we had cap space, we could address secondary scoring, but we don’t ...so let’s hope Frolik comes back and finds his groove.
|
Jankowski and Hamonic scored tonight....we're getting secondary scoring.

I made sure to turn it off as soon as the goal went in, because they're going to be giving him the mcdavid treatment tonight.

Hey, we cracked 50 points in the standings tonight! At game 39! Something to enjoy between all the doom and gloom.

I don’t get the people downplaying the Flames game tonight or our players. We dominated that game for long stretches, had great movement on the PP, had our chances and Markstrom made saves.
We had a goal stolen from us by a moron, and they got lucky in OT.
I think pretty much every Flame had an overall solid game and if we play like this every night we win like 60% of our games.

Sam’s hands are not getting better, and he can’t be in a top six role.

I know it's unpopular, but I think Bennett is absolutely killing that line's offense. Tkachuk is a possession player and Bennett just can't make or take a pass.
|
Tkachuk has been neutering himself. IMO he has been the worst forward in the two games since the Christmas break. Trying fancy between the leg plays in front of the net, back passes to nobody, and turning over the puck like mad. Skating has never been a strong point but he's just not a factor on the rush as he's so slow and just not been engaged as he usually is. Bennet was much better than Tkachuk tonight.

Fun game. Nobody to blame. Flames had more than enough chances to win it. Take the point and buck up.

Not a lot of chances generated by anyone other than the top line, who were tired by the end.

I thought the Jankowski line generated a tone of chances tonight. The top line was not great.

Yeah I actually intended to write that in my first post as well. He probably has the lowest hockey IQ on the team. He makes a lot of stupid plays.

Tonight, the Flames were missing primary scoring, not secondary scoring. Key distinction.

Could go on but that one is on Peters. I have no idea why you’d put Bennett on over a guy like, say, Tkachuk.
|
Tkachuk struggled tonight. Did not have a good game at all. Bennett looked more engaged through the first 60 minutes.

No, we’re getting goals from 4 forwards, that’s it!
Monahan 21
Johnny 19
Lindholm 17
Chucky 16
Without looking it up, Guess who is next, and how many goals they have?
