I’ve been down this rabbit hole before. Generally, oil drops. Same affect, same dosing, not in a candy or baked good.

Although I’ve also bought candies from Green Peak.

- done derailing this thread.

Rabbit hole? It was a straightforward question lol.

Edibles and concentrated oils are generally considered two separate categories, thanks for clarifying though.

No sorry, not at you. I just meant I was involved in a long discussion about this a few weeks ago on CP... and actually the same thing happened saying it is two categories.

The process is the same, you take a fatty oil and cook flower in it.

You can ether use a carrier oil to make it a liquid for easy drinking, or you can add that infused fatty oil to a recipie and cook with it. They are indentical in nature, but regulated differently for safety reasons (definitely don’t want kids eating an infused candy or cookie).

They need to move people through security much faster. Very annoying.

Actually, you can't.

The Dome considers vaping to be equivalent to smoking, and is therefore banned. Edibles are out because of 'no outside food' rules.

That being said, nobody around you is going to care if you much away on edibles. It's the best way to get high at a concert or game without being a selfish jerk.

THC or CBD oil. Doesn't count as 'outside food', and isn't smoked or vaped.

So actually, you can.

Would anyone actually bring edibles with them into a concert or hockey game? Seems like the sensible thing to do would be to eat them before hand to ensure you achieve the desired effect during the event.

They'd have to close Edmonton. Just wall the whole place off. And on a more positive note seeing as how the City of Edmonton just loves giving money away they'd probably even agree to pay for it.

What Torque said, and what I actually meant was that edibles/oil would ideally be taken before you enter the show since they kick in on a delay and sustain for much longer.

Sorry, minor rant. This may be an American "lack of sane regulation" problem and not apply to Canada, but for the question of how much damage vaping does, it really depends on the flavour.

Unflavoured vaping (tobacco) is known to be much safer than smoking (but not as safe as not smoking at all). But the flavours are where is gets sketchy. All the research and everything about vaping being safer only applies to unflavoured vaping (mixed by the lab with only the proper chemicals in it).

The flavours add lot of weird chemicals to the equation. Not just "we don't know the long-term consequences" chemicals, many contain "well known to cause cancer and other horrible diseases, have long been banned for human consumption" chemicals. It is really a wild west thing with flavours right now, with unscrupulous people knowingly shipping horrible things to make a quick buck.

Most flavours enter the country as not for human consumption products, so they do not get tested there. They then go through many layers of distributors who relabel and mix them. These distributors often lack any knowledge in medicine and chemistry, more people who are adding branding and selling gizmos. Then many people will remix it themselves to top it off. Everyone assumes that the layer before them was selling them safe stuff, and assumes that because the research says unflavoured vaping is safer than smoking the flavour must be safe too.

So please, vape and quit smoking. But if you must use a flavoured product, make sure you know what is in it, do a lot of research (find multiple independent sources), and be as safe as possible. You may not be able to find tests showing that a flavour is safe, but you can at least avoid the ones with know to be bad chemicals in them.
