I actually just spoke with a guy that worked at Cargill the other day and he suggested that there are a surprising amount of people that just can't hack it and are gone within weeks. I could see how being stuck in something you can't handle would give you some issues. PTSD? I dunno ... maybe?
I'm guessing they're not from Afghanistan though. Cow blood is pretty low on the list of discomforts when compared to land mines, exploding wedding parties and the Taliban.

I imagine it's a very tough place for most people to work. But that does not give you PTSD.
Stop making amateur diagnoses of serious conditions. It's a horrible thing to do.

There is plenty of documented evidence out there. Feel free to Google. Also - just the first article I saw. http://metro.co.uk/2017/12/31/how-ki...tised-7175087/

Yes, I too have noticed that you can use Google to find support for just about any possible ideological perspective you might hold. The guy in your article compares slaughterhouses to warlords who use child soldiers. Yeah, that seems fair! Reasonable source you have there.
Here is a list of people who should rationally be said to have PTSD:
-People who have been diagnosed with PTSD by someone with a medical degree;
-End of ####ing list.
This tendency to amateurly diagnose or self-diagnose mental illness is unbelievably obnoxious. Actually, add that to Troutman's list.

Ha ha ha! You do know that doctors can post articles and interviews on the internet? Goodness me. Just read the article.

I Did? I referenced it in my post. No doctor wrote it. One is quoted in it. He seems like an utter kook. Regardless, no doctor diagnoses people by writing or offering a quote in an internet article. You seem to be so blinded by religious devotion to this ideology of yours that you're missing important distinctions.
Edit: GGG, that's the same guy. It seems to be his hobby horse. Would you like me to find a scientist who says vaccines cause autism?
Edit: also, I'm not saying no one gets PTSD from working in a slaughterhouse. I'm saying that unless you've got a diagnosis, don't speculate. I strongly doubt that Suzles does. I suspect she read an article like the one she quoted and filed it away to use in an internet argument like this one. People with mental illness converted to a tool to gain a leg up in a political argument... now what was someone saying about the NRA's tactics being more annoying?

I did say 'interview' - which is what the article was. Can I ask how you are qualified to diagnose a 'kook'?

You are discounting him as an expert because you disagree with his opinion. On what grounds do you call him a kook? If you presented me with a scientist that believed vaccines caused autism I would refer you to studies and scientists that prove it doesn't and then call the scientist a kook.

Not even focusing on the ethical issues, eating meat isnt great for your health. Especially processed and red meats. It makes you fat, it makes you stink, and it gives you increased chances of many diseases including ass cancer.

The irony here is that there is an expert opinion that is simply tossed aside and discredited for no other reason than it goes against CorsiHockeyLeague's uneducated opinion.
Hmm, sort of like Flat-Earthers and Anti-Vaxxers.

Well some jobs suck. BFD. I knew a bunch of guys that couldn't handle landscaping and would quit after a couple days (or less). Doesn't mean we should stop maintaining our properties. My grandpa worked at Burn's slaughterhouse in Prince Albert his entire career. Now new Canadians are doing it. Good for them - a foot in the door in Canada. If they're uneducated, don't speak English or French, and have no skills, wtf else are they going to do?
I do think we're going to stop killing animals for meat in my lifetime. There just aren't many good arguments to keep doing it. Bad for our health, bad for the environment, and clearly cruel to animals.

I eagerly anticipate the days we have synthetic meat I can grow on a curtain rod in my home.
I'll ask people if they want to come over to my place and see my meat rod.
