I forgot they even played tonight. That's how much I've zoned out on this season.

Hey, he's too embarrassed to watch the Flames in front of his wife, alright? Cut him some slack.

Is there any impetus left? This is like festering poo bomb in a toilet that won't flush.

Saw some of the post game comments. Man, this is a completely deflated bunch with zero confidence right now. Hopefully they can just burn the tape from this entire season, forget it ever happened, and move on with a new coaching staff.

The best thing possible is for this team to lose all the remaining games this season, even better yet not score a single goal.Perhaps then the people who sign the paychecks in this pathetic organization will finally walk away, the entire toilet bowl needs to be flushed completely clean as well as the tank full of mediocrity and ineptitude that sits on top of it.

The cherry on top of this season is the lack of our first round pick this year.
We don't even get to look forwards to a high pick from doing this back..

This goes way beyond the players and the coaching team.

I am struggling to think of a single positive about the ownership group and the Management Team.

This is like one of the ####tiest case study scenarios you could imagine in an Internal Audit exam question.

I was going to post the same thing. You would think with all these injuries the $5 million dollar man could step up but he's been more invisible than whipping boys like Stajan, Lazar, and Bennett. I was never warm to the idea of paying him that kind of money and he's certainly not doing much to change my mind. Lots of fans like to call out the young guys like Gaudreau, Monahan, Hamilton, etc but Backlund is a veteran forward on this team and I don't see any offensive skill nor do I see any intangibles from this guy that make me think he's part of the solution going forward for this team.

Without Tkachuk it's very evident that Backlund and Frolik form 2/3 of an average 3rd line and this is where they need to be stapled next season. Really disappointing season from both of these guys.

The Backlund contract was brutal the day he signed it. Good player, but he's not a $5mil+ player.

Completely different cast of players, leadership, core, whatever other excuse.
Somebody please put this on a billboard on Macloed Trail.

Just a complete tire fire of a season for sure.
Those were dark days because, other than Iginla, there was really no reason for hope.

This year is worse because the team has a lot more talent that people above the players pissed away.

Anyway, as far as last night goes, that result is actually better than any of us expected.

Also of interest, year two results worse than year one. Same as here. Related: Thanks to last night's result, we are guaranteed to finish with more losses than wins this year. Same as Gulutzan's second year in Dallas.

I think he makes for a good assistant coach as a buffer between the players and the head coach but as a head coach he's just in over his head. I was worried the moment rumors surfaced he was in consideration a few years back and he ended up exactly who I thought he was.

The team never looked right going into the season. We all knew something was off when they played terrible in final tune up games in the preseason.

I get that the season is over ,but with the commitment that the flames just gave Backlund ,you would think he would be one of the last players to pack it in and start thinking about golf season. Guess not. Very disappointing to see considering he is part of the veteran group.

I have a feeling Backlund is banged up this year and will be getting some off season surgery once the year is done.

The lack of depth on this team is becoming more and more apparent.

The Flames have 3 really good forwards complemented by a bunch of 3rd and 4th liners. With all 3 of the good forwards out, things are getting really ugly.
