I bet the organization is very happy Tkachuck did that. It’s the rest of the team they are probably concerned about...

agreed. I think the organization loved what Tkachuk did. But it certainly resulted in some questions being asked why he was the only one doing it.

It also bought them some time to see what the young guys looked like this year. Assuming that Rittich or Gillies would be ready for the backup roll right out of camp would have been a huge and foolish gamble. But having Lack for a month or so gave them the opportunity to see that Riddich was carrying on from last year. He showed that he was ready.
So a simple swap of Lack for Riddich, and the team is in a good place with respect to goaltending.
Now that it didn't work out for Lack here, I am happy to see that he is getting another opportunity.
And now that Parsons has put some work in at the ECHL level, he is ready to take the next step.
I know it's popular to rag on Treliving these days, but he handled this situation pretty damn well if you ask me.

Quit being reasonable. The internet speaks in hyperbole and outrage, not measure and balance.

Jankowski has been pushing and shoveling with opposition quite frequent in the last handful of games, won't be surprised he'll fight someone in one of the up coming game. I would love to see him play with some sand paper.

I just watched all of Prout's scraps. He's a tough cookie, bet he plays soon.

Won't matter as long as GG is coach since he doesn't believe in toughness, which is what makes this trade interesting. Darryl Sutter likes toughness, one can only dream.

May be GG is in wrong line of sport, he should go coach soccer.

He can't be any worse than Bart and brings a hell of a lot of toughness.

It seems like a really minor deal but I like it a lot because it opens up a spot in Stockton for Tyler Parsons

Likely a Brian Burke decision. Guy is as tough as they come. But if he can’t skate or pass or move the puck without turning it over, he better not be getting dressed on a nightly basis.

Everyone in Calgary has been pushing and shoveling in the last few days.

Prout can skate. Stay at home D. Injuries has caused the development pause for him. If he he regain his confidence he'd fine on the 3rd pair with Kulak.

I thought maybe the Flames would trade for Prout last summer. Thought Bouma might be a guy they could trade for him, bottom line forward for a bottom pair Dman type of deal...
I figured Prout could be an OK replacement for Engelland, as in he's a big tough bottom pairing, right shot Dman. But then they traded for Hamonic and re-signed Stone.
I have to wonder if this added depth opens up trade options for one of our RHD to bring in some scoring help up front.

Play him just to add some aggressiveness to the back end. Soft team needs it.

Yeah but who does he replace? The options are Hamilton, Hamonic or Stone..
This is why I wonder if another potential trade is brewing.

I just watched some of his fights. He seems to like to punch the Neanderthal. I like him already.
