Didn't realize it was a "double header" today in San Jose. Right now it's the Andrew Mangiapane Show at the SAP Center as the Heat lead 4-2 over the Baracuda. Mangiapane has two goals and an assist so far.
UPDATE: Not the strongest game for Jon Gillies. 5-4 San Jose in the third.
UPDATE 2: Heat fall 6-5 in overtime.

I've seen them on multiple occasions. I think Chiasson was shocked that he was recognized outside the rink.
They charter a plan, but still go thru the same airport and gates us scrubs do.

Dang if I knew this was a thing I would have probably made the trip. I should have been paying more attention.

Who would've thought it might be a good idea to keep the two hottest players 5 on 5 the last few games, together on the power play?
Now if GG would just stop rewarding players for bad turnovers, soft and lax play with valuable, unearned power play time.

Backlund should be a good fit on the point on the pp. Hardest shot on the flames and is reliable defensively if the play goes the other way.

I used to love game time. Couldn't wait. I would set aside everything so I could watch my flames.
Right now I don't even care. I need to find something better to do with my time I feel like.
It hurts so much that this is how I feel right now

How unrealistic. Since you’re 29 I think you meant a Flames win 2- nein!

I hate to be a debbie downer but I am thinking this is going to be a slaughter fest with a 4-1 loss or something and the rest of the games may not be pretty.
A lot of players may have been out in the eastern time zone such as Johnny, Monny, Gio, Stajan for Christmas etc and then having to fly back to Calgary for practice on Wed and then travel to the pacific time zone with a 8:30 MST start.
A back to back against the Ducks in the Honda Center? I understand the moral victory of beating the Ducks last time but let's not forget that they were missing seriously talented players like Kessler and I believe Getzlaf. The local area was also in a local stage of emergency with the wild fires ravaging the community. I am not sure everybody from players, fans and arena staff were too concerned with the Flames, no pun intended.
A big factor for the NYE game vs the Hawks will be wither or not the team travels home tomorrow night and gets back to Calgary at 3:30-4 am on Saturday morning. They could stay Friday evening in Anaheim and then fly out refreshed on Saturday morning and get to Calgary for the afternoon and have a more balanced sleep schedule.
As for the Flames @ YYC. Would they not go to the private charter terminal for domestic flights and only use the regular terminal for US Customs ??

Nope. Road Flames are the real Flames. I think they suck at home to boycott the Dome. A win in the shark tank tonight. Rittich goes 4-0

As one off flights, sure. But I know for certain the team doesn’t fly coach nor transit the main terminal(as a team).
When they fly they use a charter airline’s terminal so that the team isn’t distracted and bombarded by fans.

Well I guess I'm imagining things when I see the entire team in the US terminal at the cafeteria.
You are certain they don't use that terminal.

Loubardias more or less said Jagr would be playing tonight about 30 mins ago on the FAN in that he expected to see JJ on the 2nd PP unit.

They use the shell lounge for their terminal. Flames management uses Sunwest Aviation’s (owned by the late Harley Hotchkiss’ son, Richard).
Travel days can be a pain for teams as it is, could you imagine having to wait in line to go through security and customs?... at a private gate customs comes on board to verify the flight manifest with those on board which is a major convenience of flying charter through a private terminal.
So yes, you are likely imagining it. Perhaps you seen a couple players flying without the team but the team itself, a pro team, would never fly coach. Always charter. Charter planes don’t depart the international terminal as well.
