The fire is confirmed to have "reached" Beacon Hill, and I suspect structures have been or will be lost, but I haven't yet seen any report explicitly stating that.
Ah ok. I was letting the dogs out and just caught the tail end of a report. Thanks.
Wow this is scary. I use to live in downtown Fort Mac across from Keyano College and I remember being worried about this kind of situation. About 5 years ago there was a major fire while I was still living there but it was much farther north. I have a friend that just started working up there so I am hoping he's safe.

Might not see confirmation until the flames retreat. If that trailer park is gone, I'd suspect a good chunk of the buildings along the highway there are burning as well.
The #ymmfire hashtag is now moving way too fast keep up. What's for sure is that the fire has breached hwy 63 and that's what caused the closure, but still no confirmation on the gas station.
There are now multiple reports of houses being lost.
I don't know what other help to offer besides money, and I get that we're very far south, but if anyone that managed to evac south has a camper/trailer and nowhere to park it to live in while they're evacuated, I'm offering our driveway/parking pad/yard. We don't have any spare room in the house, but we can put someone up who might be pulling a trailer.
My old neighbourhood is on fire. This is really sad.
I can only imagine.
My home was destroyed in 2013, but every disaster is different, and I cannot bear to think what's going through these people's minds right now. So sad.

Sounds like everyones safe, camps north and south of the city opening their doors. Parents and their two grandchildren were close to the big PTI camp neat MacKay. Might go up to Shell Albian were a cousin is and they have tonnes of rooms.
Scary stuff. Broke down a couple times talking to family and some friends. Watching the news is heartbreakening. Born and raised there and never had much bad to say about it. Hoping for cooler weather by tomorrow night and some relief.
