I can't imagine a scenario or package that the jets accept.

I actually think Dubois can be just as good as Puljujarvi and Laine, if you think about it he's been compared to a Jamie Benn type player and some people would say Benn > Ovechkin these days.

As long as he can fall past the Oilers and Canucks down to us, the Flames will be a better team in a couple years. The only dissapointment is there's no killing of two birds with one stone in getting a right handed sniper. We can bring back Iggy for that PP role though.

Too bad. One of the top 3 picks would've made us serious contenders for a decade.

I'm scared that we'll be stuck in mediocrity. I think this was the last year that we will "suck", and really was our last attempt at a bonafide superstar. Like 65 points at 18 years old type of superstar.

At least now the oilers didn't get rewarded for mailing it in all year. Good to see a team that actually needs the BPA get rewarded.

At least the Jets are in the Central, so them getting better doesn't negatively impact the Flames as much as the Nucks getting better. Also, the Nucks are more likely to do something stupid with the 5th pick than they would have been with a top-3 pick.

The Oilers need a D now!!...they need to be getting a developed D through trade, and then they'd take BPA with pick #4, unless it's used in the trade, of course.
I'd bet the Oilers trade it or trade down with an American team

My thinking as well, very doubtful they pass on Tkachuk or Dubios and take one of the lower ranking D's. They will either pick one of those 2 or trade the pick for a established D.

I think we really want Edmonton to keep that pick and take a D. That will ensure us one of Tkatchuk or Dubois which would serve us well.

If Bingo ran this I'd rate it a 3 or a 4. Happy the Flames didn't drop far and that the Oilers and Canucks aren't in the top 3. Not crazy about a Leafs and Jets win.

Hope some of that Monahan magic rubs off on this year's #6, whoever it ends up being.

Not a bad result -- just didn't want Edmonton to win another top pick. Also didn't want Buffalo to fall at all... It seems the second drop off will come around #9 this year, so happy to stay at 8.

If that last day of the season had gone any differently, we would have had a Finn. D'oh!

Yeah if the Flames cant get the guy they want I wouldn't mind trading the pick. We dont need a project, we need someone who can make an impact in at least a couple seasons.

The NHL draft lottery is really a joke and they are a fringe league in the US, compared to the NFL, Nascar, MLB, NBA, and College Football are all ranked ahead of the NHL...this is disappointing no matter who the Flames pick at number 6.

Bettman, Daly, and the other top league officials need to go...I am not happy.

There's still enough anger at this result that makes me wonder what the level of meltdown would have been had Bingo not been running his daily thread of lottery results.

Thanks Bingo, you've single-handedly made these forums readable for the next couple of months.

In the meantime Toronto Maple Leafs fans and the Toronto media are now planning the Stanley Cup parade next season.
