Anaheim does not have an impenetrable defense like St. Louis, we need to keep the puck moving away from the back of the net. Nearly 100% of the time that we tried moving the puck behind their net they locked it down like Alcatraz and stole the puck by leaning on our players. If we limit those turnovers alone we'll do way better.
I hope we all see a much better effort form the Flames tonight. Anything less results in an 0-2 series heading into CGY.
I'll be honest, the game 1 shellacking gave me some definite pause as to whether they can win this series. But it is a new day and a new game. Lets do this!
They have to show their absolutely best effort, skating and hiting. If we somehow win this (stranger things happened), they'll get under pressure and may lose confidence. I believe we can do this. I was like 4 times this season thinking it's over or they can't do it. Last time it was LA game when i just couldn't believe we would beat them given they know how play these games. But it happened. In the end if we lost i just want this to be tough close game unlike game 1 because this was an embarasment.
The Flames can and will come out with a better effort than game 1. Against a formidable Ducks team however, Ramo will have to provide us with a solid if not spectacular goaltending effort. Us a pending UFA this could be the biggest NHL game in his career so I hope he's focused and sharp early on.
The longer we hang around, the greater our chances of winning. Have a feeling this one may go into overtime... actually, hoping it does.
