The pressure that owners and upper management puts on GMs to make the playoffs often make them make bad decisions by selling off the future. I believe that's what happened here with Sutter and to some extent with Feaster as well. The owners seem to smarten up only when disaster strikes like when the Flames went into free fall. I'd guess Boston's next GM will be hired on the promise to take the team back into the playoffs but in the end it's probably a losing game.
