Usually pop by other teams boards before games just to get a sense of how teams are playing. Went to the Oil board elsewhere - 90 mins to faceoff and no game day thread yet. Which tells me more about how the fans feel about their team right now more than anything else.

Totally true, although that LA win did spark some of the fanbase and possibly the team, I think. A little bit more chirping and trash talk today. But only a little.

Also, I'm still new and I don't really want to create a thread in case I do something wrong, and no idea where to put this, but I hear the Flames have a new mascot?? Dash the Dalmatian?

It's games played by the player, not by the team, so he can't accidentally pass the 40 game mark.

The more interesting question would be if one of their other centres got injured in one of their next three games, would they keep Leon around?

The Adirondack Flames. To replace Scorch.

Three platters of Nachos are on the final bake. Goodbye 2014, and hello to the final win of the year for the Flames

Baby Flames beat the Marlies today

Down 2-1 with 2 minutes left, they had huge pressure and a Marlie pushed the net off, clearly intentionally. Resulted in a penalty shot. Knight took it and buried a nice backhand to forehand, cookie-shelfer to tie the game.

It went to OT and because of penalties, started 3 on 3. Baertschi was dominating as one of the Marlies had lost their stick. He had a couple chances and then shot and I am not sure if Arnold tipped it or got a rebound or what, but either way, 3-2 for the Flames in OT

Dash the Dalmation, yes. He is no Scortch!

By the way, 3 on 3 is awesome and I really hope the NHL adopts it

Will SNW switch to the Flames when this Tor vs Boston game runs past 7:30?

And yet if the Oilers find a way to win you know their fans will start chirping incessantly. Typical Dumpsville.

Awesome to see baertschi playing great since going down. Hopefully he gets called up to the big club again and gets to play a bigger role. Would love to see him on Monahan's wing again.

I have always been a big Baertschi fan. And I have watched a fair number of Adi's games.

No question that he is playing better, but he is far from ready. He lost his mojo (I think Burke took it, but that's been discussed enough) and he needs to get it back.

He simply isn't the player he was in junior. I think he needs to be left alone in Adi for a long enough period of time that he can fully recapture his game and his mojo.

He needs to be their best player, their go-to guy for a period of time. And he isn't that yet. Not even close really.

Ready to go

Friends on the way to celebrate the New Year

A nice bottle of spiced whiskey for me.

A bottle of bailey for the coffee drinkers.

Its time for a drunken CaptainCrunch New Years eve.

Happy New Years everyone

So hey - found out the real reason Todd Nelson is on the bench by himself. Looks like MacT had tickets for a hockey game in Montreal tonight.

The plan is coming together nicely.
