LOL. Oilers make changes in the wrong position yet again.

Love it.

MacT is probably convinced that he built an amazing team and they just need his personal coaching touch.

Truly a joke and I know Eakins was 3rd on the list of desired firings by Edmonton fans, so this is pure gold..

This is the Oilers we are talking about. Can't compare them to other NHL teams.

The Oilers cycle (or recycle) of the old boys club continues.
To be fair, I can't see anyone from outside of the organization accepting the job. MacTavish is probably the best option, at least for right now.

Shows how little power Mac T has in the organization, I'm sure this wasn't his idea.

So how can anyone take anything MacT says seriously at all? He's lost any and all credibility (if he had any to begin with).

Bold moves.........none.
Eakins is my guy...........fires him a week later.

MacT is a joke. If Katz has any brains at all he would make a massive sweep of all management this spring and start over. That franchise is a complete disaster and a joke.

Good for Eakins for getting the heck out of there, and still getting paid for the next couple of years. He comes out of this the big winner.

Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger
Todd Nelson will join Oilers as asst or associate coach. Fleming likely to take over in OKC.

Josh Rimer @JoshRimerHockey
This is the Edmonton Oilers 5th coaching change since 2009.
