One thing I've learned is that every kid is different, so light and noise, different gadgets (mamaroos), carseats, whatever it might be is trial and error.
Obviously this is completely useless for you, but so is a lot of advice people will give you because like I said, just because it worked for their kid doesn't mean it will for yours. As someone else mentioned, if you have friends/family that offer you stuff to try, take it. Don't go buy a $300 Mamaroo if you can borrow one because you're kid might hate it.
