People would be offended by that too and there aren't even racial undertones.

I'm not calling her a racist, just an idiot.

I just don't get what's so hard about not saying a word that many, many people find extremely offensive. Just don't say it. It's easy. Same goes for "fag". Expand your vocabulary.

A mother calling her kid a "motherf'er" is kind of gross (with Madonna, it might be accurate though).

No, because like I said it means "bro" so not sure why I'd call someone I never met that when I don't know him so he's not my Nixxa. He's mike.

Like I said and another black guy just said, it's no big deal as long as the racist intent isn't there.

It doesn't, the n word will always be the n word. If a met a white man and kindly introduced myself and he referred to me as that word then I would've been very offended. But if I had a friend who I've known for a long time and he called me that in a joke then I'd have no problems with it (for the record, none of my white friends have ever called me #####).

Also I agree with what sun said, Modana should have been smarter in what she wrote. If she put some other swear word there then this whole crisis would've been avoided.

He was expecting me to be embarrassed or taken back but the timing of it was priceless. I've seen him a few times since and we still laughed about it.

So the use of it in the qoute above is not acceptable?

Really, because I certainly say "what's up dude/bro/man/buddy/etc" to people I've just met. Even if he's not my "bro" or "buddy". Obviously there must be some distinction then.

When does someone become "your ####a" instead of just ####er then? Third date type thing, or what?

I think it's telling that you won't even write it out in your posts.

I wouldn't advise it. TBQH got lucky I guess. But honestly I'd probably laugh too if it was me.

I find it hypocritical that black people can use the word but others cannot.

Honestly, either everyone could say it, or no one should, black people included. The word itself has an abusive meaning. Granted I use the word at times when I talk with a friend that makes use of the word, or using it in context (songs), but nowadays I find myself preferring to not say it at all.

You know, some people are actually offended by racism.

This latest bit from Madonna is honestly too pathetic to get upset about. It's clearly an aging white woman trying to seem edgy and "relevant" with the kids today, but it's still a stupid thing to say.

I doubt the woman is actually a racist. Just dumb and desperate for attention.

The word would be exclusively in the domain of racist scumbags had it not been for black people successfully getting it back into our vernacular. I would never use it in any form had it not become part of our language, a part of our language that exists outside of the racist scumbag dictionary.

I do not think at this point the word 'should' be used exclusively by black people, it seems to be general use, yet we hesitate to use it (I personally feel it should not be used at all). It certainly is not my choice of words, but it is strange that one group can use it and another cannot.

If Jews used the word 'kike' to refer to each other, it would result in the same thing, widespread use and a desensitization of the original meaning.

Hope I never end up on wheel of fortune because I have no clue what "#dis#####" stands for?
