I don't blame Brent though as he never picked the god awful Canadian jr squad. He was set up to fail.
So his former players either like him or do not like him. I am not sure that is really surprising. The guy is what he is, he basically gets exactly what or slightly more than you would expect from any given lineup. He is an average to above average coach.

Yeah, that was my point.

Once politics is dead, we will ice a good team and leave Sutter out of it. No Mr. Spott either, thank you very much. I'd rather have thee best 19 and 18 year olds on this team and roll with that. They dropped the ball and should be ashamed of themselves.

No free passes. Zero. Hold a broader selection camp. 2 choices to cut at forward and none in net?? Fucale held his own and wasn't the reason they lost. Probably no upgrade needed there. How about Tristan Jarry though? Again, I just wanted healthy competition all around, and the net was the least of their concerns.

Poirier?? Domi?? OHL scoring sensation what's his name?? I guess Hockey Canada forgot his name too. Yeah, well if they want to be politically correct, then add a damn scoring winter with some grit who drives to the net!! He plays in the Q. Poirier is his name. Seems to care. Seems like he would want to win.

Hockey Canada has made some baffling decisions here and they should be held accountable, not given a free ride. 0 medals in two years. Zero. Unacceptable.

Hockey is our game, and it still is. But they know us better...and we stumble around in the back rooms, wondering what to do.

You think politics is what held Domi out?

The guy has played twice for Hockey Canada and involved in the program about as much as you can and he was passed over for Josh Anderson who 95% of people in Hockey Canada never heard of prior to this season. Sure seems like it is politics holding this team back.

The whining from Flames fans because their guys didn't get picked is ridiculous.

What about all the politics of the crappy NHL teams that skipped drafting Connor Brown are they are in on the politics as well?

I think this applies to his experience in the chl and to some extent the wjhc; he's an above average junior level coach, but from what ive seen a rather sub-par NHL caliber coach...

Perhaps we can say he's one of the better coaches "not in the NHL"

Brent Sutter: the cervenka of coaches!

I have no problem with the team that was chosen, but in hindsight a couple of guys really didn't show up at all. Rychel, McDavid, Dumba etc were bad

How the team should have looked:

Hudon - Drouin - Mantha
Petan - Monahan - Reinhart
Horvat - Laughton - Lazar
Anderson - Gauthier - Wilson
Domi

Reinhart - Reilly
Pouliout - Ekblad
Morrisey - Dumba
Pelech

Fucale

That team wins gold. So really the people to blame are Burke, Nonis, and GMGM
