Agree with some of you, as a group solid potential but lets not drill down into specific players as we just never know.

Domenichelli was a soft, skinny hockey player. He still played in the NHL briefly despite that.

Which of our highly touted prospects plays a similar style with a similar body type to Domenichelli? None that I see.

People need to stop trying to equate players. I've seen it in a few threads in the past few days. Brossoit =/= Keetley. Brossoit =/= Olivier Roy. Domenichelli =/= any of our prospets.

And the old argument that former junior scoring star player X was a bust so therefore we shouldn't be excited about the guys we have dominating at the moment is tired, pointless and just a poor argument overall.

Booooooring. The Flames finally have some legitimately good prospects. The negative nancys can go suck it IMO.

Pretty sure Hnat was just an example of how high stats outside the NHL dont always translate to success in the NHL.

No one is comparing him to any of the flames prospects. All I said is lets feel good about the prospect depth as a whole and not focus expectations on any single player. Since you choose to bring up physical stature, then you dont need to look past Johnny Hockey. Again though I made no comparison. Just talking in general terms.

Dont know why you read it any different buddy!!

I dont think I was trying to be negative just realistic so perhaps you should suck something instead cause your comments are negative and rude!

To be honest, I am REALLY hoping that Johnny Hockey turns in to our next Theo Fleury.. So yeah I guess expectations are probably a tad high..

There is still alot in play with prospects. One can argue that some of those busts that have been discussed in this thread could have been stars if properly developed. I believe you need 3 components to prospects like the Flames have to develope into stars. 1. Good scouting, 2. Proper developement at the junior and AHL Level, and 3. Assest allocation at the NHL level (putting them in position for growth). Special prospects are an exception (generational and elite players), but the majority would need at least 2 of the three, if not all three, to be sussessful.
Regardless, the present prospects is a nice upgrade on skill but still light on higher end defencemen.

Damn these stats lines are exciting:

G:
Gillies (8 GP, 6-1-1, .944, 1.73)

Wing: Poirier
21 GP, 16G, 18A, 34pts, +13, PPG: 1.62, 1st on team scoring

Wing: Gaudreau
9 GP, 9G, 9A, 18pts, +10, PPG: 2.0, 1st on team scoring

Center: Jankowski
9 GP, 6G, 1A, 7pts, +4, PPG: 0.78, T2nd on team scoring

LW: Klimchuk
22 GP, 12G, 15A, 27pts, +7, PPG: 1.23, 1st on team scoring

I think we've got our future top 6, as well as our future goalie, and I've never been more excited about the future of the Calgary Flames.
nice work putting this post up FBI
