I have to admit, this is a strange thing to say.

You may as well be saying that if Fata had hands and IQ like gretzky he'd have done the same. It's an equally stupid statement.

Maybe I'm taking it out of context though as I didn't read the entire thread.

it's the same argument.. but you laugh at his claim, but a couple posts up you did pretty much the same thing, even using the same number.
There is a huge difference between saying 4 inches would make somebody the #1 pick in a single draft and 4 inches would make a guy the greatest prospect ever. They are not even remotely the same argument.

So yeah the comparison is a good one.
The 2013 link was by one of our OHL based prospect writers, Brendan Ross.

For the record, our official rankings - The Next Ones Prelimary 2013 Rankings had him 7th overall (before he morphed into our #1 ranked prospect since December).

(obviously a spin off Dominique's nickname back in the day)

Drouin's in depth prospect profile in The Next Ones format, if interested.

He would be a 1st pick most years, no need to qualify it.

He definitely has some slick moves out there. He is very impressive to watch. Will be interesting to see what he can do with Stamkos. The lightning will be fun to watch this coming season.

So, who thinks that we will see enough, from either Drouin or MacKinnon, for either (or both) of them to make the Olympic team?

It's a long shot for teenagers, but these kids are talented.

Drouin is a good prospect, but he is no Lindros, no matter how much size he gains. Lindros was a generational talent. The best talent to come along since Lemieux. Crosby isn't even in the same class as Lindros in my opinion. Lindros was dominating in every facet of the game, like no one since Howe. Drouin has top line talent, but he is no franchise or generational talent.

I don't think either will make it, there are just too many high level, seasoned Canadian forwards ahead of them on the depth chart. Even Crosby never made the 2006 team (although that was a dumb decision).
