You'd think TSN would learn and maybe start their coverage at 10 a.m. E.T. rather than 8. Even 10 is early but 4.5 hours in and no trades, gotta be tough on them.

How? He is almost singularly responsible for the return to the playoffs. Goes both ways. There was likely very little return. One possible destination, retiring next year, and on pace to have the worst save percentage for a starter in almost 20 years. How much do you think we'd have got?

Yeah... I mean, he did nothing aside from dressing each game and look where the Flames got him.
What a tool.

What are you talking about....these guys are athletes, being traded goes with the territory. He has a year left on his contract and now wants to retire.....completely handcuffs the team that he owes his career to.....that works for you?
I`m a fan of the Calgary Flames, i`m about the team and it`s success....i love Kipper and what he`s done for the team but at the end of the day he`s screwed them over and they will not be able to turn him into anything in the future....that sucks as far as i`m concerned.

The Calgary Flames owe Kiprusoff more than he owes the franchise.

I don't have a problem with it.
He used the leverage available to him to achieve his desired result, as is his right.
I agree with Rhett Warrener on radio this morning as well. Kiprusoff is done and doesn't really want to be here. You can see it in his eyes, body language and his stats.
Frankly, for his part, if he wants to help the organization, he should probably just sign his retirement papers today so they don't have to pay him anymore and conversely, the team should just thank him for his service, shake his hand and send him home, then play their other goalies to see who's what.
The Kiprusoff Era is over.

Yeah the way he has been playing since the Iginla trade Joey McDonald gives us a better chance to win.

Yes. For a goalie of his caliber to be this bad is indicative of his desire. Worst save percentage for a goalie in forever. Not that it hurts our "No winnin' for McKinnon", but still

Who traded for him? Calgary did.....do you not recall that he was a 3rd string goaltender in SJ when they aquired him? You figure he would`ve won the starting job in SJ from Nabakov?
People put these guys up on a pedestal and worship them like Gods....he`s a player on the team....sure he played a massive role in Cgy going to the finals in `04, best few months of hockey ever for us....loved it. Why you wouldn`t want to see them get something for him, whatever it may be small or large puzzles me.
The Calgary Flames did owe him something and have paid it to him every year in salary....a lot of it.

I have never understood why Gord Miller, who never reports on insider stuff, isn't really considered an insider, and really only does play by play, is always at the "insiders table" with those other two.
But on trade deadline day he does seem to have decent info.

I can't believe nobody made a thread for the blockbuster trade of Boston sending F Maxime Sauve to Chicago for F Rob Flick.
